This is the first time I’ve spoken about my vocal injury and surgery in public.

Although I haven’t shared it at all - I’ve been on quite a journey this past year.

Almost 3 months in silence.
A surgery.
A massive comeback journey of rehab and getting myself back to where I now feel stronger vocally than I ever have.

When Bilingual Broadway Collective invited me to come sing “As If We Never Said Goodbye” from Andrew Lloyd Webber’s SUNSET BOULEVARD, at the legendary United Palace , before a screening of the original glorious film….

I felt it clearly in my instincts…

It was time to share this.

Losing my voice was something world shaking for me.

My Voice is who I AM.

It is how I connect with others.

It is how I endeavor to serve what I believe is my life’s purpose:

To create art which Uplifts, Inspires, Shines Light, and Connects.

To be of service to my art form of musical theater.

To be of service to my Broadway Community.

To be of service to our audiences whom I love.

I’ve been fighting for a year to get back to all of you.

You, out there, in the dark.

I hope you’ll come and join me.

It’ll be as if we never said goodbye.

All my Love,
Arielle

Rest in Power to the GREAT Duncan Sheik!
I raise you up.
I raise you up and celebrate your incredible life of art.
I raise you up and celebrate your light which you shared with all of us.

Duncan Sheik will always be absolutely singular.

In June of 2011 I had the great honor of working with him.
I starred as Feiyan in The Nightingale at New York Stage and Film.

On the Nightingale - just some of the artists involved were:

Me, Uzo Aduba, Lena Hall, Kimiko Glenn, Michael Esper, Harriet Harris, Michael Cerveris, Andrew Durand, Moises Kauffman directing, I could go on and on.

But that’s how it was for Duncan.

All of us knew that his work was so singular, and so special, that the entire community would always show up to support anything he was working to bring to the world.

If Duncan was working to birth something - you showed up to help - because Duncan’s work is healing for audiences.

I send all of my love to his family and loved ones.

Don’t sit in silence for Duncan Sheik tonight.

Raise him up.

Raise the volume.

And play his music LOUD enough to make sure that, in Heaven, he can hear that we will always be singing his music.

Love,
Arielle

🎤Opening the Rise FASHION SHOW at the New York Stock Exchange with this song by MILEY was grounding and soul shaking.

Thank you Amanda Nguyễn for inviting me to join you in this iconic venue and for such an important cause.

You are such a beacon of hope, and an inspiration for everyone who encounters struggles along the way to achieving their dreams.

I’ll remember this moment forever.

Let’s keep going. Keep climbing.

And as this song says:
It’s all about the Climb.

Never expected to walk in a Runway Show during New York Fashion week 👠, and sing the Opening song to kick it off 🎤, standing on the trading floor of the New York Stock Exchange! 📈

Thank you Amanda Nguyễn and Rise for making such a powerful and inspiring event, highlighting the cost of sexual assault, and empowering the victims of sexual violence to continue living and chasing their dreams.

I stand with you always… in joy and power.

We just finished teaching a musical theater masterclass that we have been sharpening over the last 10 years.

We call it: “Musical Theater TRADECRAFT: THE TOOLS OF THE TRADE.”

Acting requires courage, passion, talent and skill.

But, after over two decades in this business, here’s what we’ve learned:

All artists want their work to WORK.

All artists are full of God-given talent and sincere passion.

All artists know that they need to be training their skills constantly.

However, most artists are not being mentored in technical TRADECRAFT, the technical skills that allow someone’s talent to travel past the footlights and all the way to the back of the theater.

And that is what we focused on.

• How to use the muscularity of the mouth to ensure that our words carry the weight of conviction.

• How to use our Physicality to communicate the text directly to the audience’s brain.

• How to use Memory Palaces to memorize anything quickly, easily, flawlessly, and permanently.

• Understanding Fear, the Psychology of Intimidation, and how our brains respond to perceived threats, in order to eliminate stage fright completely.

All of this and more.

We even helped the entire room build a Memory Palace of the entire 5 hour event, in real time, so that they left having memorized the entire day.

Then we worked with 5 soloists and did an open Q&A.

Thank you Little Theatre of Norfolk for inviting us.

We loved spending the last 2 days with you, sharing these TOOLS OF THE TRADE, and celebrating your opening weekend of BETWEEN THE LINES!

P.S.: We filmed it!
Videos soon to come.
