A meaningful celebration of youth voices, talents, leadership, and participation during the 1st Youth Fest 2026 and 1st International Youth Day!

Led by the Local Youth Development Office (LYDO) under 𝑹𝒂𝒇𝒂𝒆𝒍 𝑰𝑰𝑰 𝑹. 𝑴𝒆𝒅𝒊𝒐𝒅𝒊𝒂, 𝑳𝑷𝑻, 𝑴𝑻𝑬, with the support of City Mayor 𝑯𝒐𝒏. 𝑱𝒐𝒔𝒆𝒇 𝑭𝒐𝒓𝒕𝒊𝒄𝒉 𝑪𝒂𝒈𝒂𝒔, City Vice Mayor 𝑨𝒕𝒕𝒚. 𝑱𝒐𝒉𝒂𝒓𝒊 𝑮. 𝑩𝒂ñ𝒂, City Councilor 𝑯𝒐𝒏. 𝑳𝒊𝒛𝒂 𝑴. 𝑪𝒂𝒈𝒂𝒔, and City Administrator 𝑹𝒆𝒙 𝑭𝒐𝒓𝒕𝒊𝒄𝒉 𝑪𝒂𝒈𝒂𝒔.

𝟏𝐬𝐭 𝐘𝐎𝐔𝐓𝐇 𝐅𝐄𝐒𝐓 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 | 𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐈𝐆 𝐀𝐓 𝐆𝐀𝐋𝐀𝐖 𝐍𝐆 𝐊𝐀𝐁𝐀𝐓𝐀𝐀𝐍

“𝑇𝑖𝑛𝑖𝑔 𝑎𝑡 𝐺𝑎𝑙𝑎𝑤 𝑛𝑔 𝐾𝑎𝑏𝑎𝑡𝑎𝑎𝑛” — a celebration of young people who speak with purpose, move with passion, and take an active role in shaping the future of their community.

The Local Youth Development Office (LYDO), led by 𝑹𝒂𝒇𝒂𝒆𝒍 𝑰𝑰𝑰 𝑹. 𝑴𝒆𝒅𝒊𝒐𝒅𝒊𝒂, 𝑳𝑷𝑻, 𝑴𝑻𝑬, successfully facilitated the 1st Youth Fest 2026 on August 12, 2026, in celebration of the 𝟏𝐬𝐭 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐃𝐚𝐲, held at the 𝑼𝒏𝒊𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒊𝒕𝒚 𝒐𝒇 𝑴𝒊𝒏𝒅𝒂𝒏𝒂𝒐 – 𝑫𝒊𝒈𝒐𝒔.

The event brought together young people, government agencies, schools, and partner organizations in a meaningful celebration of youth participation, leadership, creativity, empowerment, and human rights. More than a celebration, Youth Fest became a platform where the voices, talents, ideas, and aspirations of the youth were given space to be heard and recognized.

The success of Youth Fest was made possible through the support of partners who believe in the potential of the youth. We are grateful to City Mayor 𝑯𝒐𝒏. 𝑱𝒐𝒔𝒆𝒇 𝑭𝒐𝒓𝒕𝒊𝒄𝒉 𝑪𝒂𝒈𝒂𝒔 together with City Vice Mayor 𝑨𝒕𝒕𝒚. 𝑱𝒐𝒉𝒂𝒓𝒊 𝑮. 𝑩𝒂ñ𝒂, City Councilor 𝑯𝒐𝒏. 𝑳𝒊𝒛𝒂 𝑴. 𝑪𝒂𝒈𝒂𝒔, and City Administrator 𝑹𝒆𝒙 𝑭𝒐𝒓𝒕𝒊𝒄𝒉 𝑪𝒂𝒈𝒂𝒔 for extending their support, including the provision of honorarium for the winners of various contests and activities during Youth Fest 2026, in recognition of their achievements and active participation in the celebration.

Their continued support for youth-centered initiatives reflects the City Government's commitment to creating opportunities where young people can participate, lead, and contribute meaningfully to the community.

LYDO also extends its sincere appreciation to our valued partners, particularly 𝑫𝒓. 𝑻𝒆𝒔𝒔𝒊𝒆 𝑴𝒊𝒓𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒆𝒔, President of the University of Mindanao–Digos, and the Commission on Human Rights (CHR), led by 𝑬𝒏𝒈𝒓. 𝑮𝒉𝒊𝒂 𝑵𝒊ñ𝒂 𝑪𝒂𝒍𝒂𝒎𝒃𝒂, whose partnership helped strengthen the youth-centered objectives of the celebration.

We are equally grateful to our partners from the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), engineering partners, the University of Mindanao event coordination team, and other participating offices and organizations for sharing their time, expertise, resources, and commitment to making Youth Fest 2026 a meaningful and successful event.

As the facilitator and coordinating office, LYDO is honored to have served as a bridge connecting the youth, government, schools, and partner organizations. Through collaboration, we were able to create a space where young people could speak, participate, express themselves, discover opportunities, and take action.

Youth Fest 2026 reminds us that the youth are not simply the leaders of tomorrow—they are partners and changemakers today.

A greener city begins with small actions. Today, the 𝐋𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞 (𝐋𝐘𝐃𝐎) once again took part in the 𝐖𝐞𝐞𝐤𝐥𝐲 𝐓𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐀𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐲 held on 𝑨𝒖𝒈𝒖𝒔𝒕 𝟖, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, 𝒂𝒕 𝑩𝒖𝒔𝒂𝒚 𝑵𝒂𝒑𝒂𝒏, 𝑩𝒓𝒈𝒚. 𝑮𝒐𝒎𝒂, 𝑫𝒊𝒈𝒐𝒔 𝑪𝒊𝒕𝒚.

Led by 𝑹𝒂𝒇𝒂𝒆𝒍 𝑰𝑰𝑰 𝑹. 𝑴𝒆𝒅𝒊𝒐𝒅𝒊𝒂, 𝑳𝑷𝑻, 𝑴𝑻𝑬, the LYDO team joined fellow government offices, partners, and community members in turning environmental responsibility into action. Every seedling planted represents more than just a tree, it is a commitment to a healthier environment and a better future for generations to come.
