𝗙𝗘𝗔𝗧𝗨𝗥𝗘 | 𝗕𝗦𝗗𝗠𝗜𝗔 𝟮𝗡𝗗 𝗬𝗘𝗔𝗥, 𝗝𝗢𝗦𝗛 𝗕𝗘𝗡𝗘𝗗𝗜𝗖𝗧 𝗠𝗔𝗡𝗔𝗝𝗘𝗥𝗢 𝗪𝗜𝗡𝗦 𝟮𝗡𝗗 𝗣𝗟𝗔𝗖𝗘 𝗔𝗧 𝗖𝗣𝗨𝗥'𝗦 𝗟𝗢𝗚𝗢 𝗠𝗔𝗞𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗧𝗘𝗦𝗧: “𝗖𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗥𝗔𝗟 𝗦𝗣𝗜𝗥𝗜𝗧: 𝗨𝗡𝗜𝗧𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗚𝗘𝗡𝗘𝗥𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗦.

The amount of effort it takes to climb a hill becomes less burdensome the more you trek it. That is true to this 2nd year BSDMIA (Digital Media Interactive Arts) student after bagging 2nd place at CPUR’s Logo Making Contest.

“When I found out that I won second place, I was honestly surprised and lost for words.” Manejero said. The young artist joined the CPUR Logo Making Contest with the theme, “Central Spirit: Uniting Generations.”—and ultimately won second place. Amidst the campus-wide competition, Manajero sought to take a chance and never backed down from fear or chances. He continued, “Seeing my logo being recognized made me feel proud of the effort I put into it. It also motivated me to keep improving my skills in design.” Sometimes influence doesn’t occur externally, sometimes it begins from experience.

Josh Benedict G. Manajero proved that success isn’t just a linear path; it curves and waves, and detours may occur, but the objective remains heading towards one finishing point, one final destination—”That’s why I used the CPU colors, the tiger and different elements that represent the university. I also wanted it to look modern but still connected to CPU’s history and spirit. I tried different ideas and designs until I came up with the final draft.” Manajero didn’t just come up with a logo and called it a day, effort creeped through the tireless times that his brain worked to come up with concepts, and maps linking one idea to another, he said, “During the creation of the logo, I was honestly thinking about how I could show the theme “Central Spirit: Uniting Generations” in a simple but meaningful way. I wanted the logo to show the strong identity of CPU while also showing how different generations can come together as one.” Manajero had one defining goal in mind, it was to bridge the gap between previous and future generations. Where often a rift is caused by miscommunication and unnecesarry squabbles, Manajero sought to take that idea and translate unity into a symbol. “That’s why I used the CPU colors, the tiger and different elements that represent the university. I also wanted it to look modern but still connected to CPU’s history and spirit.”

Not winning 1st place shouldn’t be taken as an attack to someone’s ego. In fact, the crown shouldn’t just be the defining destination one tunnel’s their vision towards; otherwise they lose all the important aspects that make the journey worth it. Manajero proved that it's not just about succeeding the finish line, it’s the effort trying to get there.
