How to Confirm if the CMOS battery is drained...
The quickest check is to enter your laptop's BIOS (usually by pressing F2, F10, or Del during startup). If the time shown there is significantly wrong and resets to the same wrong time after a reboot, the CMOS battery is almost certainly drained .
