An exciting and more engaging learning experience comes to the classrooms of Grade 9 Helium, Grade 9 Xenon, and Grade 9 Silver as students and teachers happily receive their 43-inch TVs under the Kaalaman Mo, SCREEN Ko Program.

The said program aims to support teachers and learners by providing technology that can make classroom discussions more interactive, meaningful, and engaging. All these screens will become windows to new knowledge, ideas, creativity, and limitless possibilities.

In like manner, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to our BNHS Concurrent Principal Dr Arnel B. Hajan for the unwavering support and commitment to initiatives that bring better learning opportunities closer to our students.

Excellence and initiative took center stage during the Tuesday flag ceremony as Grade 10-Planck, Grade 10-Pascal, and Grade 10-Faraday were each awarded a 43-inch television set, through the school’s “Kaalaman Mo, SCREEN Ko” Program.

The three Grade 10 sections earned the recognition for demonstrating commendable efforts, positive practices, and initiatives that serve as worthy examples for other classes.

BNHS Concurrent Principal Dr. Arnel B. Hajan personally led the awarding and encouraged other classes to continue strengthening their own initiatives and participation. A Heartfelt Expression of Gratitude to the Basilan National High School Administration

The Special Needs Education (SNED) Program of Basilan National High School extends its profound gratitude and heartfelt appreciation to the school administration, under the dedicated leadership of its concurrent School Principal, Dr. Arnel B. Hajan, for the invaluable support and commitment extended to our learners with special educational needs.

Through the utilization of the Special Education Fund (SEF), the school administration has provided essential resources for the SNED Program, including one (1) unit of flat-screen television, Epson printers, and various learning materials. These resources are more than just equipment and instructional tools; they represent the school’s genuine commitment to creating an inclusive, responsive, and learner-centered educational environment.

The flat-screen television will serve as an important instructional aid in presenting visual and multimedia learning activities that can enhance the learners’ understanding, attention, participation, and engagement. The Epson printers, meanwhile, will greatly assist teachers in preparing individualized instructional materials, activity sheets, visual aids, assessment tools, and other resources responsive to the diverse needs and abilities of our SNED learners. The additional learning materials will further enrich classroom activities and provide our learners with meaningful opportunities to develop their academic, social, communication, and functional skills.

This generous support reflects the administration’s recognition that every learner deserves access to appropriate resources, meaningful learning experiences, and opportunities to reach their fullest potential. It also demonstrates the school’s continuing commitment to strengthening inclusive education and ensuring that learners with special needs are given the attention, resources, and support they rightfully deserve.

The SNED teachers, learners, and parents of Basilan National High School are deeply grateful to Dr. Arnel B. Hajan and the entire school administration for making these resources available. Your support inspires us to continue working with dedication, compassion, and commitment toward providing quality and inclusive education for every learner.

May this initiative serve as a continuing testament to the school’s commitment to “No Learner Left Behind.” We sincerely appreciate your trust in the SNED Program and your unwavering efforts to provide our learners with a more enriching, accessible, and supportive learning environment.

Daghang salamat and mabuhay po ang Basilan National High School Administration!

With heartfelt gratitude,
The SNED Program

Councilor Rodriguez backs stronger collaboration for BNHS
Ny Eunice Jade T. Coros

Stronger collaboration among the school, local government, and community stakeholders was emphasized by Isabela City Councilor Abner Rodiguez during Basilan National High School’s (BNHS) first State of the School Address (SOSA) on Sept. 16 at the BNHS Gymnasium.

Serving as chairperson of the Sangguniang Panlungsod Committee on Education and a BNHS alumnus, Rodriguez affirmed the city government’s commitment to supporting the school’s plans and initiatives.

“Progress in education is never a solitary journey,” he emphasized, stressing that advancing BNHS requires the participation of the wider community.

Rodriguez pledged the city government’s continued support through policies, initiatives, and resources that could help the school carry out its goals.

“We will continue to champion policies, support initiatives, and, of course, bridge resources that will empower our beloved Basilan National High School to achieve its goals,” he affirmed.

He further underscored the local government’s role in providing learners with the support they need, while encouraging parents, barangay officials, and other stakeholders to contribute to the institution.

“Remember that your local government is your partner in ensuring that our students receive the quality education and safe learning environment they rightfully deserve,” Rodriguez stressed.

Amid BNHS’ 75th diamond anniversary, Rodriguez reflected on the institution’s legacy and its role in shaping generations of young Basileños.

“Today, we are not just marking the passing of time, we are also celebrating a legacy of brilliance, resilience, and transformation,” he reflected, recognizing the school’s seven-and-a-half-decade journey.

Rodriguez also commended OIC Principal Dr. Arnel B. Hajan for presenting the school’s accomplishments, challenges, and priorities through its inaugural SOSA, describing his roadmap as “clear” and “deeply inspiring.”

“I believe it is also high time to give back to the school that has given us so much,” Rodriguez expressed, encouraging the BNHS community to help carry its vision forward as the institution enters its next chapter.

SDS Villanueva lauds BNHS gains, envisions stronger school community
By Eunice Jade T. Coros

Recognizing the gains already made while looking ahead to greater possibilities, Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Maria Laarni T. Villanueva called on Basilan National High School (BNHS) to strengthen its partnerships and shared vision in shaping the school’s next chapter.

Speaking before the BNHS community during its first State of the School Address (SOSA) on Sept. 16 at the BNHS Gymnasium, Villanueva’s message was delivered by Assistant Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Lyna H. Basri in her absence, crediting teachers, learners, parents, and stakeholders for contributing to the school’s development.

“Progress is not measured only by awards or major accomplishments,” Villanueva emphasized, pointing to every learner who improves and every teacher who finds a way to reach a child as meaningful signs of progress.

She stressed that sustaining these gains requires stronger cooperation among families, government agencies, alumni, community organizations, and private partners.

“Education is never a journey we walk alone,” Villanueva said, urging partnerships that are purposeful, sustainable, and transformative.

She also envisioned a school community where everyone has a meaningful role in its development.

“Let us build a BNHS where teachers are empowered, learners are inspired, parents are engaged, and everyone feels that they belong,” she urged.

Villanueva likewise recognized BNHS’ teacher development efforts, citing more than 190 teachers who had received opportunities through the Expanded Career Progression (ECP) and related promotion initiatives.

Amid these gains, she encouraged the BNHS community to pursue its aspirations despite existing circumstances and reminded teachers of their central role in the school’s mission.

“Progress gives us confidence, partnerships give us strength, and a shared vision gives us direction,” Villanueva underscored.

With its first SOSA marking both what BNHS has achieved and where it hopes to go, Villanueva expressed confidence in the community’s continued pursuit of a stronger learning environment.
