The Boy Scouts of the Philippines commemorated the 63rd Scout Memorial Day through a wreath-laying ceremony, honoring the 24 Scouts and Scout Leaders who gave their lives en route to the 11th World Scout Jamboree in Greece.

Their courage, sacrifice, and dedication to Scouting continue to inspire generations to live by the Scout Oath and Law.

On this day, we honor the 24 Filipino Scouts and Scout Leaders who made the ultimate sacrifice on their journey to the 11th World Scout Jamboree in 1963. Their courage, dedication, and commitment to Scouting will forever inspire generations.

On July 20, 1969, during the historic Apollo 11 mission, a World Scout Badge was carried to the surface of the Moon by astronaut Neil A. Armstrong, a fellow Scout. This certificate, signed by Armstrong himself, commemorates the remarkable journey of Scouting’s emblem beyond Earth.

A powerful reminder that the values of Scouting—leadership, service, and adventure—know no boundaries. From local communities to the Moon, Scouts continue to inspire generations to dream big and reach for the stars.
