The colors in the sky are beautiful, but I am so in love with the view right beside me 🎨🌸✨

July 2026

En route between Davao and Jose Abad Santos, we dropped by the Davao Occidental Provincial Capitol in Malita

The Capitol was partially damaged after the earthquakes

But we're glad to see that our large mural, 𝑺𝒆𝒂 𝒐𝒇 𝑰𝒎𝒂𝒈𝒊𝒏𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒔, is unscathed

The mural was the result of our Lunang Mentoring Program iteration in Davao Occidental in 2024 - one of our many fruitful partnerships with the province

Since we installed it in the capitol lobby it has dominated the space, giving the province a very potent icon with which to welcome their visitors

Now, after it survived the earthquakes, the mural is quietly assuming another significance - a beautiful demonstration of the province's strength and durability

As they rebuild their lives in the wake of the devastation caused by the tremors, now more than ever do the people of Davao Occidental need to harness the power of culture, heritage, and the arts

Like the mural, our ties with Davao Occidental remain stronger than ever despite the calamity. We hope to sustain our partnership with them as they continue to strengthen their cultural infrastructure

And we hope to be working on worthy collaborations with more provinces in the future!
