Beginnings Church - Makati's Midweek Service Thirst-Day : Urban dictionary defines it as an additional day before Friday to get drinking. Or is it?
Part of the reason why thirst-days have been set-up is because of the choking neck to shoulder stress that Mondays-Wednesdays brings. Thirst-days creates a "break" from all the stress that was brought in by the week. With all the stressors in our environment, sometimes we just want to have a "break" to refresh, refill and renew our passion for work and be encouraged to press on to one more day before the week ends. It can be compared to a scorching desert draining your energy and making you long and thirst for an "Oasis" [refreshment, rest and break] throughout the week. There's a story in the Bible where Jesus stood up on a gathering of the Feast of Tabernacles on the last and most important day of the feast and shouted: "If anyone is thirsty, let him come to ME and drink! He who believes in ME as the Scripture has said; 'from his innermost being will flow continually rivers of Living Water' (the Holy Spirit)" ~ John 7:37-38. And on another story where Jesus said to a woman in the well: "Everyone who drinks of this water will thirst again. But whoever drinks of the water I will give him shall never thirst; but the water I will give him will become in him a well of water springing up to eternal life." ~ John 4:13-14
Now the Feast of Tabernacles was a Jewish feast that is observed to remember something that God has done in the past, while looking forward to some future prophetic purpose hidden within each festival (excerpt from http://feast.icej.org/)
Is it then not a coincidence that "thirst-days" have been set-up because there is a vortex in your soul that is "thirsting" for water that can never be quenched? Therefore dearly beloved in Christ, let's redeem Thirst-days and drink from the Cup that won't run dry ~ JESUS!
