First Metro Sec After the Bell – [Tariff Jitters Keep Markets on the Defensive]

The local bourse extended its pullback, sliding -1.32% to 6,352.86 and marking a 3rd straight session of losses as risk appetite continued to fade. Sentiment stayed firmly defensive amid weaker global markets, triggered by renewed tariff woes that kept regional peers under pressure and encouraged local investors to trim exposure. Turnover was active at Php 6.55-Bn, with foreign funds returning as net buyers at Php 303-Mn. Breadth was decisively negative at 68 advancers versus 133 decliners, underscoring a clear risk-off tone as investors waited for calmer global signals and clearer direction.
