The backbone from across the nation. After we secured the equipment and the venue, Tournament Director Hidilyn Diaz-Naranjo OLY wanted her team to also meet the same standards. They had worked with her as TD for the Palarong Pambansa. She knew that elevating their standards would boost to the quality of competitions nationwide. Having sat on the IWF Executive Board and Athletes Commission, she began the effort that the country's first-ever IWF Technical Official Certification course to be held. Days ahead of the event, they came to heed the call, led by IWF representative Tom Liaw. From north to south; Ilocos, Cordillera, Cabanatuan, Cavite, Pampanga, Camarines, Rizal, Laguna, Albay, Butuan, Davao, and others in between, the country came together for the sport. While the lights of the platform are focused on the athletes, they are held brighter by the standards of our Technical Officials, supported by Assistant TD Julius Irvin 光る Naranjo 🇬🇺🇵🇭🇯🇵. Further lifted with our production team, able to utilize the country's first-ever use of live Video Replay Technology in competition. We thank these Technical Officials for their time and efforts, in ensuring that Philippine Weightlifting is truly world-class.
