Thank you to the Professional Regulatory Board of Geology for visiting our lab!
A fruitful short discussion on how space technology, especially remote sensing, can assist geologists in their work, from mapping and monitoring changes on the Earth’s surface to understanding geological features, hazards, and processes.
Space technology is not only about exploring what is beyond Earth. It also gives us a better perspective for understanding the planet we live on.

🛰️ Sentinel-3C called home!
After liftoff and a journey to more than 825 km above Earth, Sentinel-3C has been gently pushed and is now separated from the launcher.
📡 Its telemetry signal has been received at the European Space Operations Centre (ESOC), the solar panel has been deployed, and the satellite team is continuing preparations for further operations.
Congratulations to everyone involved in this successful launch! 🎉
🌍 Another great journey begins for Europe’s Earth observation - and another eye is now ready to monitor our changing planet.

Today, the Project STArQE team of STARLab and MINERVA Lab had a courtesy visit and project update with the Makati City Government, bringing together representatives from different coordinating departments to discuss our ongoing work and the next steps for collaboration.
As one of the key stakeholders of Project STArQE, Makati City provides an important real-world setting for exploring how emerging technologies can support smarter, more sustainable, and more resilient urban planning.
During the meeting, our team shared updates on our work involving quantum-enabled optimization for electric vehicle charging infrastructure, urban heat island assessment, strategic placement of ground sensor terminals, typhoon forecasting for energy resilience, road traffic simulation and prediction, and digital twin technologies.
More importantly, the discussion allowed us to identify how these research efforts can move toward practical applications that respond to the needs and priorities of the city.
Project STArQE continues to bridge space technologies, quantum computing, artificial intelligence, and data-driven decision support with real-world urban challenges.
Thank you to the Makati City Government and the different coordinating departments for the continued collaboration and support. We look forward to turning research into solutions that can contribute to a smarter, greener, and more resilient Makati City.
