On August 27, 2026, FDC WUI brought together employee-volunteers who, alongside DENR-CCPL forest wardens and the members of the Baksan-Sapangdaku Farmers Association, successfully planted 1,700 native and fruit-bearing seedlings in Sitio Baksan, Barangay Sapangdaku, Cebu City.

Beyond putting seedlings into the ground, the activity strengthened the collective effort to rehabilitate the watershed while promoting community participation and long-term stewardship of the restored area.

The gathering provided an opportunity for the participants to connect beyond the planting activity, share experiences, and appreciate the people working on the ground to protect the watershed. More importantly, the experience reaffirmed that mindful collaboration, genuine community engagement, and empathetic connections can help create better and more sustainable ways forwardโ€”one seedling, one partnership, and one community at a time.

Farmers from the Inigan Upland Farmers Association Inc. (IUFA) and the Ayaas Kayrufa Farmers Association (AKFA) in Rodriguez, Rizal recently participated in a two-day Climate-Smart Agriculture (CSA) Training held on September 2โ€“3, 2026 at Montalban Waterpark and Garden Resort.

With agriculture experts from Harbest Agribusiness Corporation, the training went beyond introducing climate-smart agriculture as a concept. It provided farmers with practical approaches they can adapt to their own farmsโ€”from improving soil health and managing farm inputs to strengthening crop production and responding to climate-related challenges.

Participants also received farming kits to help translate the lessons from the training into practice. The kits included materials for Bokashi composting and soil management, pest management inputs, and assorted seeds, providing farmers with the resources to start applying more sustainable farming practices in their production. ๐ŸŒฑ

Ms. Monica Martin, National Information Management Officer of the International Organization for Migration (IOM Philippines), led the visit during both days of the training, engaging with participating farmers and observing the activity firsthand.

The training forms part of the Community Adaptation and Resilience Enhancement in the Marikina Watershed (CARE-MWS) Project, funded by the European Union Humanitarian Aid through IOM, which supports efforts to strengthen the resilience and livelihoods of farming communities

By combining knowledge, practical skills, and access to appropriate farm inputs, the activity seeks to strengthen the capacity of local farmers and support more sustainable and climate-resilient agricultural livelihoods in Rodriguez, Rizal.

PBSP successfully conducted the Digital Marketing and Iskaparate Orientation on August 15โ€“16, 2026 at Barangay 187 Hall under the EU-PH Green Economy Partnership โ€“ Circular Economy Project.

The two-day activity focused on strengthening the participating organizationsโ€™ capacity to promote, market, and manage their livelihood products. Participants were introduced to the fundamentals of digital marketing and how platforms such as Facebook and Instagram can help increase product visibility, reach wider markets, and create new opportunities for online selling.

The orientation also featured an introduction to Iskaparate as an additional market channel for community enterprises, providing market and partnership opportunities to the organizations. To complement the marketing sessions, the activity also included Basic Accounting and Simplified Bookkeeping refresher as they are now set to start their enterprises after receiving their seed capitals.

By equipping community organizations with practical skills in digital marketing, online selling, financial management, and enterprise development, the activity strengthened their capacity to build sustainable livelihood opportunities and maximize the value of their products. Together, we continue to support communities in developing inclusive, resilient, and sustainable enterprises through circular economy practices.

On June 27, 2026, Teradyne Philippines, one of PBSP's newest members, demonstrated its commitment to environmental sustainability by planting 1,667 fruit-bearing and native tree seedlings in Sitio Baksan, Barangay Sapangdaku, Cebu City, within the Buhisan Watershed and Forest Reserve. The activity brought together 60 employee-volunteers, alongside the DENRโ€“CCPL Forest Wardens and members of the Baksan-Sapangdaku Farmers Association.

This 3-year reforestation project serves as Teradyne's environmental commitment using its donation to the Motolite-PBSP Balik Baterya Program, where the company actively participated in the collection and proper recycling of used lead-acid batteries. By converting waste into opportunities for ecological restoration, the partnership demonstrates how responsible resource management can create lasting positive impacts for both communities and the environment.

Together, we continue to prove that collective action can restore forests, safeguard watersheds, strengthen biodiversity, and create a more resilient future for generations to come.

Relief assistance continued to reach families whose lives and livelihoods were affected by the disaster.

In Barangay Basel, Municipality of Maasim, Sarangani, 65 fisherfolk beneficiaries received much-needed relief assistance to help them cope with the challenges brought by the earthquake and its continuing impact on their livelihoods.

The relief operation was made possible through the generous support of the Philippine Humanitarian Coalition (PHC) and was facilitated on the ground by PBSPโ€™s partner, OND Hesed Foundation Inc, whose coordination and presence in the community helped ensure that assistance reached the intended beneficiaries.

For fisherfolk communities, whose daily lives and income depend greatly on the sea, even small acts of support can make a meaningful difference during times of crisis. Beyond the relief packs, this response carries a message of solidarityโ€”that affected families are not alone in rebuilding and moving forward.

PBSP and its donors have reached a total of 1,051 affected families in General Santos City, Sarangani and Davao City.
