โ€œLiteracy for people, the planet and prosperity.โ€

Literacy is more than the ability to read and writeโ€”it is a powerful tool for understanding our world, making informed choices, and creating meaningful change.

This International Literacy Day, let us recognize literacy as a foundation for inclusive communities, sustainable development, and shared prosperity. When people have the knowledge and skills to learn, participate, and act, they become empowered to shape a better futureโ€”for themselves, for others, and for our planet.

Let us continue to champion literacy as a pathway to empowerment, peace, sustainability, and opportunity for all.

๐Ÿ“– Read. Learn. Act. Transform.

Today, we celebrate young people whose dreams and aspirations transcend borders, cultures, and circumstances. While young people experience different realities, many share the same hopes for quality education, meaningful participation, decent opportunities, dignity, and a sustainable future.

This yearโ€™s theme, โ€œDifferent Contexts, Common Aspirations,โ€ reminds us that our differences can strengthen our commitment to global solidarity. Across communities and countries, young people continue to demonstrate resilience, creativity, and leadership in addressing shared challenges and creating solutions that make a difference.

At the ๐—š๐—–๐—˜๐—— ๐—–๐—ผ๐—ผ๐—ฝ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐—ฎ๐˜๐—ถ๐—ผ๐—ป ๐—–๐—ฒ๐—ป๐˜๐—ฟ๐—ฒ ๐—ฃ๐—ต๐—ถ๐—น๐—ถ๐—ฝ๐—ฝ๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ฒ๐˜€, we recognize young people as important partners in advancing Global Citizenship Education and building more inclusive, peaceful, and sustainable communities.

May we continue to create spaces where young voices are heard, youth led innovations are supported, and every young person, regardless of their context, is given the opportunity to thrive.

Different contexts. Common aspirations. One shared future. ๐ŸŒ๐Ÿ’™
