LOOKING FOR PROGRAMMING INTERNS! 🤖👾👩💻👨💻
Expected Start: January 2027
Be a pioneer in Philippine Game Engine Development! 🎮 DLSU GAME Lab is looking for programming interns interested in joining the innovative research project of DLSU GAME Lab to work on "Project Anito," aiming to provide a framework and in-house game engine for the PH gaming industry.
Funded by DOST-PCIEERD, titled "Support for the PH Gaming Industry Towards Embracing In-house Game Engine Development", we aim to provide support for the PH gaming industry in assisting them towards creating their own tech stack, game engine, scene editors, and the like. The members of this project will be spearheading the development of the foundational tools typically used for game development, such as a game library, framework, 3D editor, or game engine.
If you're passionate about innovation and empowering local game developers, we want you! This is open to DLSU CCS students looking for internship positions within DLSU. See details in our photos!
Benchmarking the future of rendering with Project Anito. 🖥️⚡
We are proud to showcase the latest milestone from our 3D modeling interns: Cameron Mempin, Paolo KwanTiu, and Jillian Cabrera. The team has successfully developed a highly detailed, close to 1:1 virtual counterpart of the physical DLSU GAME Lab space.
This custom-built 3D environment is designed specifically to test and benchmark the rendering system of the Anito Engine, aiming for absolute photorealism and spatial accuracy.
Built in Blender, this virtual scene serves as a benchmark environment for the Anito Engine's rendering system. They even used AnitoScan (3D neural asset acquisition) to perfectly clone the lab's tabletop figures!
Kudos to our interns for this amazing blend of art and engine optimization! 👏🔥

As of June 29, 2026, we're now an active chapter of the Association for Computing Machinery, organized around computer graphics, animation, visual effects, and everything that happens when creative vision meets technical precision.
What this means for you:
🔹Formal meetups and events throughout the year
🔹Direct connection to a global network of graphics professionals and students
🔹Collaboration space for people building the future of visual media
🔹A community that takes computer graphics seriously
Whether you're deep in production, learning the craft, or just curious about how the magic happens behind the screen—this chapter is for you. Membership is open to everyone. You don't need to be an ACM member to join (though we can help you get there if you want).
We're kicking off our first official meeting soon. Follow this page for dates, venues, and details.
Welcome to the community.
Running Jolt Physics inside Balay Anito! 🖋️📦
What happens when you combine hand-drawn comic book aesthetics with a high-performance AAA physics engine? You get the latest evolution of AnitoCrossHatch! 🚀
Our specialized non-photorealistic rendering (NPR) tool—designed to digitally emulate traditional crosshatching, manga, and graphic novel illustration styles—is officially transitioning into a fully functional Game Engine!
Under Project Anito, our brilliant engineering team of Jonathan DeVera and Adriel Donato has achieved some incredible new milestones:
🎮 Playable Character & Platforming: We've introduced a playable character and fully functional platforming levels. You can now run, jump, and navigate through 3D environments! ⚙️ To handle real-time physics, we’ve integrated Jolt Physics (the same powerful physics engine behind blockbuster titles like Horizon Forbidden West and Death Stranding 2!).
📦 Real-Time Interactions: Watch as physical primitive cubes bounce, tumble, and collide perfectly with the environment—fully rendered in our stylized crosshatch shader.
🏡 Balay Anito Benchmark: We’ve put this new engine stack through its paces by using our custom-made, traditional Filipino home scene, Balay Anito, demonstrating stable interactive framerates (60 FPS!) even with complex geometry and real-time physics enabled.
By building our own game engine tech from the ground up, we are proving that stylized Pinoy games don't have to rely on commercial, closed-source ecosystems to look and play beautifully. 💡🇵🇭

🏡 Elevating Balay Anito: Bringing Atmosphere & Detail to Pinoy ArchViz! ✨
We’re taking our custom Balay Anito scene—our in-house benchmark scene inspired by traditional Philippine architecture—to the next level! 🇵🇭💻
Under Project Anito, our team has been working hard to upgrade Balay Anito into a fully engine-ready, high-fidelity environment optimized for our custom local renderers. In our latest walkthrough update, we’ve introduced several massive visual and structural improvements!
🛋️ Furnishing Upgrades: Check out the beautiful, brand-new sofa remodel by our 3D artists, Stephen Lance Yarte, raising the bar for the scene's interior detail. ✨ Atmospheric Magic: Our 3D artist, Onesimus Dela Torre, has implemented gorgeous cinematic enhancements, including fake volumetric lighting and floating dust particles that catch the light, adding depth and warmth to every angle. 🌅 Dynamic Lighting Profiles: Experience Balay Anito under a cozy, moody Evening setting.
