The Basic Course in Ophthalmology is a three-week lecture series on the basic concepts in ophthalmology.
For the past few years, it has been attended by more than 150 aspiring ophthalmologists, residents and practicing eye MDs across the country.

The UP-PGH Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences is excited to announce that registration is now open for this year’s Basic Course in Ophthalmology — a three-week asynchronous virtual program happening from October 5 to 23, 2026.
📅 Registration Period starts today September 5, 2026, until October 4, 2026 at 5:00 PM.

This year’s course will conclude with a face-to-face end-of-course examination to be held at the Henry Sy Sr. Medical Sciences Building, University of the Philippines Manila. Details on the schedule and guidelines will be provided to registered participants later on.

It’s time to put your knowledge to the test! The computer-based face-to-face end-of-course examination of the Basic Course in Ophthalmology will be held next week.
