We escaped the workshop for a little while slipped out for a some adventure around town before getting back to work.π€π±
Our little trip led us to discover a hobby shop hidden inside an old department store along the highway. There are glass cabs and shelves filled with toys... hobby materials and a lot more! Plus...resident cats too! π½πΌππΌπΉ
What's more there's a wide area with gaming tables..the industrial sci-fi tabletop terrain in the background was just too good for our Tako Nekos to pass up.
It's good to know that this old department store (Ketch circa 1980) was repurposed to be a hobby shop. We truly hope it continues welcoming fellow hobbyists and collectors for many years to come.
Our reconnaissance is complete, and we headed back to the lab.πΎπββ¬πΎπββ¬πΎπββ¬
These Tako Neko oddities are already plotting their next invasion and will be making their way to our next event, Super Manila this September. We hope to cross paths with more curious humans and perhaps find new homes for our oddities! ποΈπποΈ
See you there! π€ππ»π

WIP WIP! π¦π₯Because we've been craving for this snack and have long wanted to create an art toy in it's likeness..our Sharksfin Siomai is slowly taking shape! We're doing this back to back with our current commissions... so it'll take a while.
Making use of scrap wood as its armature another small way we like to give discarded materials a new purpose. And again, we're relying on old school method we always trust the process! Yet another Kaiju is on it's way! π₯π¦π₯π¦π₯π¦π₯Stay tuned!π

Facebook Memories brought this "old is gold" ToyCon moment, today. π€π»
ToyCon July 2022 will always be one of the most unforgettable events for us. It was Toycon's comeback after the lockdowns and restrictions. The excitement was at an all time high because everyone had missed Toycon!
We didn't even have risers back then. We just laid most everything flat on the table..every robot, creature, mech and oddity we had made prior the pandemic and times under lockdown.π οΈπ¨
Looking back, that weekend still feels a little surreal. By the time the event wrapped up, our table had become noticeably lighter. More importantly, seeing our creations find new homes after such a long pause reminded us why we kept creating through those uncertain years. Always grateful for all the support! π€πΆπ»π

π¨Long post incoming! π¨
Facebook Memories reminded us of this little milestone from ToyCon 2019. π
That was the very first time our robots and oddities made an appearance at ToyCon. Not through our own selling table just yet, we were simply there to display our work,(and have a little fun at the same time!) tucked into a single shelf inside a glass cabinet that Sir Jojo, of Mac Kolektibolz Toys, generously shared with us. There were no plans to sell, the whole arrangement was wonderfully spontaneous and informal.
Arman Kendrick, was also kind enough to let us leave a few pieces that couldn't fit inside the cabinet at his booth, and to our surprise, some of them eventually found new homes.
People who admired our work through the small glass cab..and those unexpected adoptions became a quiet nudge that simply said, "Keep going." We thank these two awesome gentlemen until this day!
Life eventually hit the pause button for a while, bringing events to a standstill. Stayed at home kept on creating and hoped for better days. But when the dust finally settled, we found our way back, December 2021 through Mint Fest in partnership with ToyCon, followed by the return of ToyCon in July 2022 after the lockdowns. We've been fortunate enough to return every year since.
Looking back, it's amazing how generous gestures helped set this whole adventure in motion.
To everyone who we met and extended support, and gave encouragement from those early days until now, we thank you for believing in our strange little creations. Here's to many more ToyCons, more mecha and oddities, and more stories waiting to be made. π€ππ»π

Hello July! π³οΈπ³οΈOddity Adoption Update!π¨
2 Space Tako Prototypes and 1 pink Takoyakill are Laguna-bound to regroup with a couple of Takoyakills,a bigger Space Tako Prototype, and a Dirty Meowscream that were copped at Toycon Nexus, and went ahead to recon their new domain. π
Squad reunion incoming! πΈπΎππ¨πββ¬β¨
We can't wait to see the whole crew together!

A huge "THANK YOU" to this awesome collector for the massive oddity adoption!π
Our oddities have multiple, prominent, expressive eyes, so it's kind of fitting that their new caretaker happens to be an eye doctor. We guess all those extra eyeballs must have caught the right kind of attention!πποΈβπ¨οΈποΈπ§
We're so happy our odd little creations have found a place in your collection.
Safe to say... the gang is officially reunited!

Independence Day weekend throwback at Toycon Nexus! π΅π
In a mission to acquire affordable coffee..βwent to that coffee kiosk at the mini park beside the church, saw an awesome jeepney installation at the park and immediately imagined our Jeepbalangs hanging out with it! Since it will be tedious to go back to the venue just to get the mech Jeepneys for a photoshoot, we did little photo editing magic. Though they weren't "really" there, the Jeepbalangs posed with their bigger cousin. π.. Hope it looks convincing enough. π
Did a little research on the Jeepney installation..it functions as both a symbolic rest area and a decorative tribute to Filipino culture because it was Independence Day weekend back then, it's probably just temporary... Good thing we captured this artwork's moment.π΅π
On the way back, paused for a quiet moment of gratitude for the first sales we made on the previous day 1. Made it back to the booth just in time... and not long after, one Jeepbalang found a new home. Couldn't have asked for a better coffee break. ππ΅πβ€οΈ
