/look like you/
"If I'm going to live with this, I don't want it to look like some other d*ckhead. I want it to look like you." - Ryan from Leviticus (2026)
Leviticus (2026) will be one of my personal favorite horror films as it combines an LGBTQ film with horror in two different ways: the horror of an supernatural entity representing the one you desire forever until it kills you and the horrors of being a q***r person in a conservative community. From that concept, I think this film sealed it for me.
I recreated the last scene of the film wherein Ryan and Naim rests on one another as they leave the horrors of their own conservative town, through POSCA/ acrylic markers and it my first time trying to do a full render of a human face which is hard in my opinion. Despite the fact that the entity will remain throughout their lives, I believe that with their trust and love for one another, it may take time for that entity to adjust, just like what was shown on the end. I love how this film doesn't need to be full-on scary, as living in that place is already crap.
Thank you to Director Adrian Chiarella for creating and writing this film, and also to Joe Bird, Stacy Clausen, and my favorite actress when it comes to horror and thriller, Mia Wasikowska, for making this one my favorite. đŸ”„ NEON

Concept ko para dito ay introspection ng nararamdaman ko lately, which is burnout yet feeling ambitious at the same time.
Open for viewing and buying itong entry kasama yung iba pang A4 entry sa 1159 Creative Space, Makati Central Square, Makati City from July 18 (Saturday) to July 24 (Saturday). Thank you sa Art Show Philippines at 1159 Creative Space sa ganitong opportunity! đŸȘœ

/i’m unraveled/
9 x 12 inches
mixed media (acrylic, gesso, impasto, yarn) on canvas
“Oh, because my head is full of poison, and my heart is full of doubt (I'm unraveled)
I got toxins in my bloodstream you tried so hard to suck out (I'm unraveled)
And it feels like medication, and it's good for me, I'm sure (I'm unraveled)
But it don't matter how your love feels anymore (I'm unraveled)
It'll never be the cure
It will never be the cure
It'll never be” - the cure by Olivia Rodrigo
The first time I listened to and watched the music video of her second single for OR3 (you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love), the cure really stayed with me because it showed that healing through love isn’t complete and has to start from inside. Sadly, this is something I have had to learn for myself. The songwriting, along with the music production of this song (from soft melody to big orchestral, movie-like sound at the end), makes it the “heart” of the album and really highlights the main idea I mentioned before.
The fan art used different materials like acrylic paint, gesso, and impasto to create a 3D anatomical heart and red yarn, inspired by her music video showing her unraveling from emotions. The music video is clearly made from the viewpoint of a nurse, which is a symbol for her in this song. Overall, this song is one of my favorites and, I dare say, her best so far because it’s not just a heartbreak song about a guy, but a deeper heartbreak knowing that love will never be the cure since healing must always come from inside. đŸ©·

/ani 'to/
2026
4ft x 3ft
Acrylic on canvas
Entry No. 330

/kiss me and i might drop dead/
"All pressed up in the bathroom line
You're looking like an angel on the walls of Versailles
The most alive I've ever been
But kiss me and I might drop dead" - drop dead by Olivia Rodrigo
Finally may bagong kanta at lead single na tayo for OR3 or "you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love" ni Olivia Rodrigo. To be honest, gusto ko yung naging music direction nung kanta niya though alam ko na ito pa lang yung start nung full journey ng masasabi kong love album niya since next song would be more sad pero okay lang since galing naman sa kanya yung nararamdaman niya as Livie na na-attached talaga sa mga gut-wrenching songs niya like driver's license, traitor, at hope ur ok mula sa SOUR, tsaka vampire, teenage dream, the grudge, stranger, at scared of my guitar mula naman sa GUTS at GUTS (spilled).
Itong bagong lead single niya is relatable (before para sa akin) given na ito yung magandang comparison sa feeling ng limerence at yung feeling kapaga nagustahan mo yung tao sa first date kaagad. Kaaliw lang kung paano ginawa yung kanta especially may onting nods siya sa 80s, indie pop, dream pop, at in a way may baroque or orchestral if pinakinggan niyo mabuti yung chorus.

/stay numb and carry on, march 2026/
Bago matapos 'tong buwan, might as well gumawa ng simpleng POSCA acrylic art ng overall feeling nitong March. A combination of ups and downs and buti na rin yung ups ay nangyari on the 2nd half ng buwan na 'to kasi grabe lang yung pagka-busy lately sa work and all kaya di ko magawa yung ibang bagay na gusto ko gawin gaya nito. Tsaka yung feeling lately ay parang nag-float lang sa tubig o sa ere na in a way ay parang mantra na rin. Anyways, bawi ako next month. Looking forward sa mga susunod na buwan and I hope makayanan in any way.

/ebb and flow/
acrylic on canvas
45.72 x 60.96 cm/ 18 x 24 in
Life continues to flow, regardless of what happens—good or bad. I want this artwork to reflect that feeling, inspired by the necklace I bought, made from broken glass refined by the waves and time. To me, both the necklace and this artwork's floating subject symbolize going with the flow and letting things go. The message is to remember to let life flow and release what we cannot control. With these reflections in mind, I started the creative process for the piece.
The acrylic artwork begins by painting the person's body and the deep water behind. This area is created using four glazes of thinned paint to evoke water. Next, a thick impasto technique is used for the ripple and flow of water, with different colors added to provoke various lighting effects and feelings in the artwork. Lastly, acrylic gloss medium is applied to the entire painting as the final coating.
I created this entry for , but didn't make the longlist. Another lesson learned for this year, to improve my art. I don't know if I want to sell this one, but I'm open to that possibility.

/safe in my locket/
“I only exist in the moments you're talking to me
If we can't be together, then I'll just go back to sleep
Wish I was something to you, baby, you're everything to me (Mm-mm)
I tried to save us, but there's only so much I can do (So much)
And I'm not perfect, but I've nevДr stopped loving you (So)
How am I nothing to you, while you're still Đ”verything to me? (Mm)” - you’re still everything by Madison B**r
Listening to Madison B**r’s latest album, “Locket,” feels like a warm embrace on the first try. I guess makaka-relate ako sa album na ito kung na-release ito last year especially last September. “You’re still everything” yung isa sa pinaka-paborito kong kanta at masasabi kong “heart” ng album. Also, naiyak ako nung unang pakinggan ko lalo na sa “How am I nothing to you?” kasi it all comes back ulit nung tinry ko magreflect doon sa kantang yun.
Anyway, hope magustuhan niyo itong last-minute fan art bago matapos ang buwan ng pag-ibig at sining, and this album fits perfectly in my opinion. đŸ©”

/be in the moment/
"In the end, it's stronger than I know how to be
And I can't just spend my whole lifetime wondering
I fell in love with the sound of my heels on the wooden floor
I don't want my footsteps to be silent anymore" - 'The Moment' by Tame Impala
Anyways, more art to come and looking forward sa taong ito. đŸ€đŸŽ
