We’re coming together as ALPAS artists for a special fundraising show in support of our fellow ALPAS artist, Bets BL, who will be undergoing knee surgery.

This show is more than just an exhibition—it’s a little way for our art community to come together, lend a hand, and remind Bets that she doesn’t have to go through this alone. 💗

We're showcasing artworks from participating ALPAS artists, with proceeds from the fundraising show going toward Bets’ upcoming surgery and recovery.

is a reflection on the dreams, desires, and quiet prayers we carry with us as we grow older.

Through Mimi, the artist explores the many forms that hope can take, from wishing for love and a better world to holding on when hope feels fragile, longing for someone we wish were still
here, and searching for inner peace. Each painting is a glimpse into a different kind of longing: personal and intimate, yet also
shaped by the world around us. Some wishes are simple, some deeply personal, while others reach beyond ourselves, a quiet hope for a kinder, more compassionate future.

Hopes and Wishes is an invitation to pause and remember the things we continue to believe in, even as we grow older. Because perhaps growing up does not mean outgrowing our dreams; it
simply means learning to carry them differently.

𝐌𝐞𝐞𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐀𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐭: 𝐌𝐚𝐞𝐒𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠

MaeSomething is a contemporary lowbrow artist whose work explores nostalgia, imagination, and the emotional complexities of growing up. Inspired by her grandfather, early responsibilities, and a childhood love for classic cartoons, Mae’s art captures the bittersweet transition from youthful innocence to the realities of adulthood. Working primarily in acrylic, she builds vibrant, whimsical worlds that reflect memory, longing, hope, and the quiet poetry of everyday life.

At the heart of her practice is Mimi—her signature, ribbon-wearing character who acts as an emotional mirror for her inner child, memories, and imagination.

Mae’s striking works have been exhibited widely both locally and internationally, with shows spanning South Korea, Malaysia, Thailand, Spain, Paris, and Italy. Notably, she was among the first Filipino artists to complete an art residency at SAMRIT in Thailand, an experience that profoundly broadened her artistic vision. Her talent has also earned her major recognition, including First Place in the 2018 Just Add Water PH Plein Air Contest.

Through her art, Mae invites viewers to step back into a sense of wonder, offering a comforting space to reconnect with the childlike parts of themselves they may have left behind.

We are honored to share that the works of six of our ALPAS artists will be part of 𝗟𝘂𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗲𝘀 (𝗛𝗲𝗹𝗲: 𝗠𝗴𝗮 𝗔𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗻 𝗻𝗴 𝗕𝗮𝗻𝗮𝘆𝗮𝗱 𝗻𝗮 𝗣𝗮𝗴𝘁𝘂𝘁𝗼𝗹), an exhibition happening at Kunst Depot Venezia, Venice, Italy, from September 18–20, 2026.

Inspired by In Minor Keys at the Venice Biennale, the exhibition explores how traditional lullabies can become a bridge between the land and the human spirit—holding stories of heritage, resilience, identity, and our connection to the environment.

Through their works, our six participating ALPAS artists join this quiet yet powerful dialogue, where familiar melodies and memories become expressions of hope, resistance, and belonging.

We invite you to celebrate with us as Filipino art finds its place in Venice, carrying stories that continue to resonate in the spaces between notes. ✨
