The Coco-HULIP Project proudly congratulates Ms. Robelyn Toyongan, a graduating BS Agriculture major in Crop Science student of Davao Oriental State University (Batch 2026), for receiving the 𝐁𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝐏𝐚𝐩𝐞𝐫 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝 and the 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝 during the 𝐁𝐚𝐜𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐠𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦 𝐨𝐧 𝐉𝐮𝐧𝐞 𝟐𝟓, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔.

📰: Hybrid coconut production systems promoted under the Coconut Hybrid Utilization in the Locality for Improved Productivity (Coco-HULIP) project have demonstrated up to four times higher nut yield per palm and per hectare compared with traditional coconut farms in the Davao Region, highlighting their potential to significantly improve farm productivity and farmers’ income.

𝗖𝗼𝗰𝗼-𝗛𝗨𝗟𝗜𝗣 𝗣𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗭𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗶𝗻 𝗕𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗮 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗧𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗼𝗻𝗮, 𝗗𝗮𝘃𝗮𝗼 𝗢𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹

The Coco-HULIP Team conducted regular pest zoning and monitoring of coconut seedlings at the project’s adaptability trial sites to ensure healthy growth and the early detection of pest problems.

The activity was carried out at the Baganga Experimental Site, Baganga, Davao Oriental on March 11, 2026, and at the Tarragona Experimental Site, Tarragona, Davao Oriental on March 12, 2026.

The monitoring activity was spearheaded by the team’s entomologist, Cyril Tura. Also present during the activity were Project Leader Erna Macusi and the team’s project staff.
