National Work Immersion Fair opens in Olongapo
The Department of Education, in partnership with the Local Government of Olongapo, formally launched the first-ever National Work Immersion Fair on September 11, 2026, at the SMX Convention Center Olongapo, where hundreds of senior high school learners, educators, and industry representatives gathered to connect classroom learning with real-world employment through a full-day program of orientations, exhibitions, and one-on-one matching sessions designed to strengthen school-industry partnerships.
Carrying the theme “Bridging Aspiration and Opportunity: Strengthening Industry–School Partnerships,” the event opened with a ceremonial program led by Olongapo City National High School — Special Program in the Arts.
Regional Director Tolentino G. Aquino and City Mayor Hon. Rolen C. Paulino Jr. delivered welcome remarks, emphasizing the fair’s vital role in preparing youth for the workforce.
Video presentations on the Work Immersion Policy, P-CORP orientation, and the Voice of the Graduates followed, giving participants a clear view of the program’s goals and benefits.
Janir T. Dakutan, Assistant Secretary for Learning Systems Depart of Education also led the official unveiling of the Work Immersion Dashboard, a digital platform designed to streamline placements and monitor learner progress nationwide.
Industry booths opened immediately after the ceremony, allowing students to interact directly with company representatives and secure immersion slots aligned with their specializations.
The event concluded with the awarding of certificates of recognition to industry partners and closing remarks from education officials, advancing DepEd’s vision of “Connecting Learners. Empowering Futures.”

4-storey, 12-classroom building to rise at OCNHS
Officials and education stakeholders led by DepEd Undersecretary Atty. Mel John I. Versoza, City Mayor Hon. Rolen C. Paulino Jr., and OCNHS Principal Dr. Sandy T. Cabarle gathered at Olongapo City National High School on September 11, 2026, to break ground for a 4-storey, 12-classroom building — a project jointly undertaken by the Department of Education and the Local Government of Olongapo to address classroom shortages and provide modern, conducive learning spaces through collaborative planning and funding.

OLONGAPO CITY — Olongapo City National High School (OCNHS) campus media organizations awarded with top spots in the First Edition of the Campus News Force competition held June 30, 2026, at the Schools Division Office Conference Hall.
Ang Buklod bagged 2nd Place in the News Publication (Secondary Category), while The Anchor secured 5th Place in the News Broadcast category.
The two student-led publications represented the school across broadcasting and print journalism divisions against competing schools within the division.
Publication advisers mentored the student journalists throughout the preparation and competition phases, focusing on news gathering, technical broadcasting, and publication ethics.
The awards recognize OCNHS's ongoing efforts to train student journalists in producing responsible and timely news for the school community.

𝐍𝐄𝐖𝐒 | 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗕𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗻𝘀: 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗣𝗹𝗲𝗱𝗴𝗲 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝘁 𝗢𝗖𝗡𝗛𝗦 𝗢𝗮𝘁𝗵-𝗧𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘆 ʼ𝟮𝟲
Olongapo City National High School (OCNHS) officially inducted the student officers of its various clubs and organizations during an oath-taking ceremony held Friday at the school's Multi-Purpose Hall (MPH), formally entrusting them with the responsibility of leading their respective groups for the academic year.
The event brought together officers and members from the Science, Technology, and Engineering (STE) club, Special Program in Journalism (SPJ) Club, Special Program in Sports (SPS), Red Cross Youth (RCY), Special Program in Foreign Language (SPFL), Special Program in Social Science (SPSS), Basic Education Program (BEP) Club, Special Program in Technical-Vocational Education (SPTVE), Youth for Environment in Schools Organization (YES-O), Ang Buklod (Filipino School Publication), Supreme Secondary Learner Government (SSLG), Robotics A+ Club, The Anchor (English School Publication) School Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (SDRRMC), Citizen Army Training (CAT), Boy Scouts of the Philippines, and Girl Scouts of the Philippines.
The program began with welcoming remarks and an inspirational message from SSLG G12 Representative Jorex De Guzman, who shared the words of renowned author Simon Sinek, encouraging student leaders to embrace responsibility, purpose, and service in fulfilling their roles.
Dr. Rossana G. Tanteo, Araling Panlipunan OIC-HT and SSLG Consultant, expressed her pride in the students commitment and willingness to serve their organizations. Principal Elmer M. Camaso, OIC–Assistant Principal of Senior High School, administered the oath of office, reminding the newly inducted officers and members of their responsibilities, the importance of respect, and their commitment to serving both the school and the student body.
Meanwhile, Ms. Marites Bergante, TLE Head Teacher, highlighted OCNHS's recent accomplishments, including the school's Top 15 finish among 63 participating schools in best school canteen practices and management, congratulating the students and faculty for bringing honor and pride to the school.
The ceremony concluded with closing remarks from SSLG Adviser Mr. Roldan Rabo Jr., who thanked all participants and encouraged the newly inducted leaders to uphold excellence, integrity, and dedication throughout their term. The event ended with a photo opportunity featuring the speakers and representatives from all participating clubs and organizations.

PH Navy welcomes OCNHS MARITIME Students aboard PS-20, PS-41
Eighteen Grade 11 learners from the Maritime STEM 2 – Maritime Specialization class of Olongapo City National High School (OCNHS) participated in a ship familiarization activity aboard BRP Rajah Sulayman (PS-20) and BRP Ramon Alcaraz (PS-41) at the Naval Operating Base Subic on June 11, 2026.
The activity was conducted through the partnership of the Maritime Academy of Asia and the Pacific (MAAP) Research Unit and Academic Extension Service Unit to strengthen maritime education among partner schools in Olongapo City and Bataan.
Rear Admiral Joe Anthony Cabahug-Orbe, the 38th Commander of the Philippine Fleet, together with Navy officers, warmly welcomed the students and their delegation. The group toured and boarded the two vessels, where the learners were oriented on naval operations, maritime security, and the critical role of the Philippine Fleet in safeguarding the country’s maritime territories.
As one of the first beneficiaries under MAAP’s eight adopted maritime programs, OCNHS-SHS was given the opportunity to expose its students to actual shipboard operations, navigation systems, and potential career paths in the maritime industry.
Joining the visit were Schools Division Office officials: Assistant Schools Division Superintendent Ilyne S. Samonte, CESE; Curriculum Implementation Division Chief Dr. Eleonor C. Cayabyab; School Governance and Operations Division Chief Ricardo E. Ednao; Division SHS Focal Person Dr. Corazon B. Dumlao; and Public Schools District Supervisor Rosa Jhade T. Valiente.
Also present were OCNHS officials led by Senior High School Principal I Elmer M. Camaso, SHS Coordinator John Michael O. Lopez, and class adviser Leo A. Pacunio Jr.
The activity highlighted the strong collaboration between the Philippine Navy, MAAP, the Department of Education – Schools Division of Olongapo City, and OCNHS in providing meaningful experiential learning opportunities and shaping the next generation of competent maritime professionals.
Students of Olongapo City National High School welcomed School Year 2026–2027 with enthusiasm and school pride during the Class Opening Festivities.
