Dukeke Started as a contestant for an office battle of the bands event last July 2017.
Tonkatsuki was born. The stint was just to attend and compete. Eventually the founding members, which were also office colleagues; Duke Martin, Christian Lanuza, Abbie Baclao and Elmer De Guzman decided if the band can take it up a notch and make songs after bagging and tagging first Place on the said event. They stayed a year playing live events, from bars gigs to office events and battling on open battle of the bands. They developed a bond that no one can trample. A brotherhood of sorts and even some would call it: a Family. Then the band decided to take a short hiatus. Some of the members focused on work, family and others had careers of their own through other bands as well. Also because of the pandemic that their roster decided to lose one of the founding members. From there, Tonkatsuki have been performing since 2018 in office events, parties, gigs, and battle of the bands. Though a lot of changes happened within the band's member lineup, they were able to get additional fire power from new members like Sharp Cenizal, Kevin Puno, and Jomi Mortera. Tonkatsuki's music style is focused on lyrics with catchy and funny punchlines, heavy riff tunes, booming bass lines, syncopated drum solos and pop punk feel. Most of their songs you can dance to and jump around with. Tonkatsuki is a band that everyone should watch out for at every event.

The band started as a simple four piece group who only wanted to join an office battle of the bands and luckily bagged first place on the said event. Christian Lanuza, Elmer De Guzman, Abbie Baclao and Duke Martin were the four members who created magic while playing on stage despite the fact that there were problems with their schedules. They managed to score a place and had fun during the event.
Duke was fueled for more. He had once a band to whom he fell in love with so much that he was trying to recreate the band. But in the process got more than what he asked for.
Additional Fire Power
Getting former Hokune/Two Days After lead guitarist Paul Yapo as a permanent member of the group. The band made it’s path taking names, kicking ass and performing like it’s their last at every event in the metro.
