26 JULY 2026 DEPLOYMENT REPORT

Coming at the heels of tropical typhoon Kiyapo which just recently left our country this day is our very first collection for the multigrade and last mile school of Bunga Elementary School in Besao, Mountain Province.

9 boxes = 418 books + 1,233 materials were carefully curated, collated & some crafted, and carefully packed for the specifications of this uniquely remote school community.

Of particular note is a balanced collection of early and young reader materials as well as particular attention given to sourcing Filipinana or locally published literature. A special selection of teaching and reference materials were also printed and collated to help the community keep up to the latest information available.

Given the geographically isolated nature of the community and their low student population a wide range of school and office supplies were donated to ensure each child and teacher is supported in their basic needs.

Lastly, materials such as educational toys and teaching aids are also part of this initial collection as alternate ways to promote and support the love of reading and learning for all.

Some materials were also include for the extended community as the school is often used as a center of the residents and locals in need of a safe space or a means to meet.

This is but the start of what will be future efforts on our behalf through the collaborative efforts of the representatives of Bunga ES and the wider barangay of Catengan.

26 JULY 2026 DEPLOYMENT REPORT

Our 1st deployment for Inuman Elementary School at the Municipality of Sandingan, Zamboanga Del Norte, Mindanao has been dispatched via the cargo service of Ceres Lines, Cubao, MM.

The shipment will travel across roads, bridges, and via ROROs for three days before it reaches Sandingan terminal where it will be picked up by the representatives of the school community.

This initial collection is composed of 8 boxes = 511 books + 914 materials representing a wide range of categories forming a basic selection from multi core subject academic books for all ES grade levels, literature in the form of early and young reader to serious reader books, a substantial Filipinana collection, as well as teaching aids / references for educators and parents. Materials-wise the collection provides toys for educational purposes, digital media library selections, school supplies, and other educational aids.

This first deployment represents a new avenue of entering more areas of the Mindanao mainland as more and more logistical options open to help serve the outlying areas of our country.

Our hope is that one day resources will be more easily and affordably accessed by such communities like lnuman Elementary School.

July 23 2026 Donations Acknowledgements

The 3rd installment from the Carewell Community Foundation has been picked-up at Makati with the help of their staff and co-founder. Much gratitude to Sir Bobbit and Ma'ams Marie and Jane for being very accommodating in donating not only books but also materials that they have no longer in need of to the extent that some of the donations passed on were also personal ones from their respective households.

Maraming salamat sa tiwala. We will definitely ensure that your donations will go to a proper new home.

July 21 2026 New community partnership: Arriesgado Elementary School

Barangay: Poblacion
Municipality: Claveria, Burias Island
Province: Masbate

Situated at the Poblacion of Claveria is a last mile school geographically located above the 100 meter elevation point and currently under the leadership of Teacher In Charge Sir Jeson Espares.

With its current 35 student population and 4 teacher staff, Arriesgado Elementary School, despite being part of the central barangay is a community outlier operating within a multigrade system.

As per Sir Jeson...

"Arriesgado Elementary School is situated in the highland part of Poblacion 1, Claveria, Masbate. It takes more than five kilometers to reach it from the town proper through walking, horse riding and carabao riding. It faces the tallest mountain in Burias Island, Binanderahan. The school area with 10,000.00 square meters (1 hectare) was donated by Joven Arriesgado in 2017. During this year, it became the extension of Claveria North Central School. The school was separated to the latter on October 26, 2018 as it had its own school ID. The grade levels offered were Kindergarten to Grade 6 class under the leadership of Mr. Jeson A. Espares

Presently, it has three classrooms constructed. With four nationally funded teaching personnel, the school in its 8th year operation offers complete elementary grade levels from kindergarten to grade six respectively. Unfortunately, the school lacks school facilities, Instructional Materials, furniture, teachers and school building for the learners’ needs are highly necessary.

Despite of being the last mile school in the municipality of Claveria, the school has been continuously pushing its effort beyond its limits to ensure that all learners may have the highest possible education and life-long learning opportunities."

To add to this, the school is off-grid in both electricty and connectivity.

With these underlying challenges we hope to bring to this school community a workable and sustainable library hub collection within their current Reading Hub space; that hopefully will be a catalyst for change, love of reading and a source of learning.

Our thanks for Sir Jeson and to Sir Charito Asilo for his referral. Teachers helping teachers, communities extending the hand of service. This is truly the epitome of the bayanihan spirit.

With misinformation nearly everywhere, one professor tested a simple fix of 150 minutes of fact-checking homework – and it worked, boosting the students’ ability to spot misinformation by nearly 20%.

July 16 2026 Donations Acknowledgement ++

A follow-up batch of donations from our friends at Varsity Hills has been collected. The more than 30-minute loading effort was a physically taxing task done with the help of two of the subdivision's security guards. Sweaty and heavy work, with a bit of strategic placement to be able to pack everything up but it was good and honest work indeed. :)

Our thanks to the admin staff on hand who coordinated and formalized the turnover with us for our return trip, specifically to Ma'am Marisol Tan.

There is also a special curation request made for this particular batch as some of it will be identified and sorted to be donated to another beneficiary institution. :)

16 JULY 2026 SPECIAL DEPLOYMENT REPORT

Beyond our usual program partnerships with schools and communities we also work with wider networks of advocates from all walks of life with the common goal for serving and supporting frontliners in nation building and the overall education sector.

One such opportunity to help came from the referral of our friends at the DepEd Catanduanes - Social Mobilization & Networking team.

The student led effort of Manambrag National High School in San Andres is running their 2nd year of collecting umbrella donations for their school community. With the high rate of precipitation and typhoons besetting the outlying island of Catanduanes, the need for raingear and proper equipment can be a catalyst for community advocacies.

We are happy to help in whatever small gesture any community centered effort.

A package has been included in the next batch of deployments sent to San Andres. Our thanks to Ma'am Marife Brenquillo of the Soc Mob Unit for her solicitation.

16 July 2026 DEPLOYMENT REPORT

10 boxes of 354 books and 556 materials were curated for the 3rd deployment for San Vicente Elementary School, a multigrade institution located in the mountainous region of San Andres, Catanduanes.

We've ensured that the boxes are fit to easier and displaced handling given the remoteness of the area and for ease of the people who will be handling the shipment.

The collection particularly augments the current collection of academic textbooks to ensure that a wide selection fits all grade levels. A selective genre of comics and native tongue language (Bicolano) stories were also collated and manually printed to serve as resources to entice reader curiosity and engagement.

Another effort worth noting is the donation of school supply sets to fit the number and grade levels of the students in their multigrade format classes.

JULY 15 2026 SPECIAL DEPLOYMENT REPORT

Our latest special deployment concerns the call to support the Forest Rangers of Mindoro who have been noted recently for their instrumental work on the preservation and increase of the critically endangered Tamaraw population in Mounts Iglit-Baco Natural Park in Mindoro.

Despite this essential service to both fauna and environment conservation the main team of rangers still remain untenable in permanent status of their employment and status with the government.

Such is their plight that a call was raised by concerned outdoor groups such as TrailAdventours, specifically its co-founder, Jacob Sarreal, to help support the material needs of our brave champions of Philippine nature; in time of World Ranger day on July 31st.

As previously posted, the forefront people on the ground are the ranger, ie, living teachers of our first classrooms, the environment.

Much like our advocacy for public schools we realize the need to raise the awareness and the plight of the frontliners in our local government agencies be it in the education or environmental sectors.

We were blessed to be able to hand-off our donations of assorted materials for the donation drive. At hand is was the co-founder of Trail Adventours who has experienced firsthand in meeting with the Tamaraw Rangers of Mindoro.

Trail Adventours is a mountain tour company that offers nature, culture and adventure that inculcates the love, respect, and preservation of the outdoors.
