Thank you so much to the SVD Laudato Si' Farm in Tagaytay for giving us the opportunity to be part of their celebrations in line with Season of Creation 2026!

The WeGeneration Initiative team gave a talk on Living Water and the importance of water in sustaining life on Earth.

Up to 70% of our oxygen comes from the oceans, and they are also a very crucial carbon sink, absorbing greenhouse gas emissions and transforming them into carbon that is then stored deep in the ocean floor. Humanity cannot survive without the oceans that are absorbing heat.

We must do all that we can to prevent the oceans from becoming more acidic and polluted. Climate action is urgently needed now to protect our seas, the plankton, the corals, and all the fish, whales, crustaceans etc because they are all part and parcel of the cycle of the oceans' processes to maintain life on earth.

Water is life and water is sacred! Protect our oceans and conserve water on land!

The WeGeneration Initiative (WGI) recently gave a talk on servant leadership, volunteerism, and leadership to student government officials from Junior High, Senior High, and early college levels of Sta. Isabel College of Manila. It was part of the student government's "SIDHAYA: Pamumunong may Layunin at Pananampalataya" learning campaign.

It was an honor for the WGI Team to lead discussions on Leadership in Response to the Climate Crisis with these truly intelligent and so sincere students! It was inspiring to hear their insights and feelings about different social realities like poverty, social apathy, government corruption, and the impacts of the climate emergency on the poor.

During the Q&A, the students actively participated, shared ideas, and personal experiences related to the topics. Congratulations to the student organizers on such a well-organized campaign and program!

WeGeneration Initiative is happy to support the International Coastal Cleanup 2026 with the SSEAYP or Ship for Southeast Asian Youth Program and the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) of Brgy. Payatas, QC!

We joined thousands of youth, government employees, and members of sectoral and community groups in at the Baseco Beach where the Clean-Up was done in coordination with the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG).

Life & Sustainability.

For us at WeGeneration Initiative, sustainability is not only about caring for our planet—it is also about how we care for one another. It is about sustaining goodness, purpose, hope, and the willingness to be available for others, so that what is good can continue from one generation to the next.

We had a wonderful morning with the HOO College Scholars and the students of St. Dominic Academy for A Celebration of Life & Sustainability, made even more meaningful by our guest speaker, JLS, who shared lessons from 75 years of living. 💚

Through his CHRIST principles, he reminded our young people about living with no fear, zest for life, love for family, purpose, curiosity, and peace of mind—and, above all, about choosing a life that has room for others.

One of our favorite parts of the day was our Goodness Wall, where the young people shared what goodness means to them. Their simple and sincere answers reminded us that goodness does not always have to be grand. It lives in kindness, generosity, respect, helping others, caring for creation, and simply choosing to do what we can, where we are.

Because perhaps this, too, is sustainability: keeping goodness alive. Passing it forward. Making ourselves available to others. And leaving behind a world—and a community—a little better than we found it.

We ended our gathering singing “What a Wonderful World” together. A fitting reminder that a wonderful world is not simply something we hope for—it is something we all have a hand in creating.

May we never get tired of doing good, and may we continue building a wonderful world for all. 🌎💛

Walking Together for Creation 💚

It was a beautiful early morning joining Laudato Si’ Pilipinas for its first organized Interfaith Walk for Creation, held in Maybunga, Pasig.

As early as 5:00 AM, communities from across NCR gathered in the pouring rain—people of different faiths and backgrounds, walking together with one shared hope: to care for our common home.

I was reminded of the words attributed to Pope Benedict XVI during World Youth Day 2011: “Your faith is stronger than the rain.” And that morning, it truly felt that way.

This walk was especially meaningful as we also carried in our hearts and prayers all those affected by the recent typhoons and storms—especially communities who experience the impacts of the climate crisis most deeply.

May we continue to walk together, care for one another, and do what we can—even in the littlest of ways. Every act of care matters.

Laudato Si' Movement Pilipinas

SUNLIGHT TO SUSTAINABILITY
We are incredibly grateful to share that WeGeneration Initiative has been awarded a grant from the Honnold Foundation for our Sunlight to Sustainability Project in Tanay, Rizal!

This opportunity will allow us to widen our reach and bring our work further into the communities of Barangay Mamuyao and Sta. Inez—bringing reliable solar energy to critical community facilities while strengthening climate education, youth leadership, and local capacity.

Through this partnership, we hope to power essential community spaces, train local community members in solar installation and maintenance, and engage young people and student leaders in climate action and renewable energy advocacy.

More than installing solar panels, this project is about empowering communities with the knowledge, skills, and opportunities to become part of their own sustainable future.

To the Honnold Foundation, thank you for believing in our work and giving us the opportunity to widen our reach and serve more communities. We are excited to learn, build, and create impact together. ☀️

The WeGeneration Initiative is a climate education NGO guided by Pope Francis' ecumenical love letter to humanity "Laudato Si': on Care for Our Common Home" and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). We uphold a human-rights-based approach in all our programs (climate education, social action, values formation), and believe in the importance of empowering communities so they can promote their own welfare and advocacies.

Given all of this, we take a critical stand against the Pax Silica project in New Clark City on the basis of its potential impacts on the immediate environment of Capas, Tarlac and surrounding provinces and their communities. Even now, there are increasing reports that many farmers and communities of indigenous people are being displaced or evicted from their farmlands in preparation for the construction of the massive data center.

While we welcome discourse and even debate on Pax Silica, we, however, maintain that WGI will always take the side of the poor and the environment on the issue.

Sharing now the results of a recent survey:

According to the August 2026 issue of The National Momentum Survey, 1 in 3 Filipino adults say the project should not proceed, while 20.2% say it needs further study.

Generational differences are also evident, with younger Filipinos more likely to oppose the project.

Gen Z respondents, in particular, are also more apprehensive about Pax Silica's potential environmental impacts and the displacement of farmers and Indigenous communities.

If we love nature and our planet, we should do all that we can to protect them and keep them liveable!
