SNASR's Supreme Student Council: The Future of S.Y. 2026-2027


As a new school year approaches, everyone is wondering which group of students will lead us this time. Who is worthy? Who is willing? Who is determined to make the school a better place for all?

On June 17, 2026, SNASR performed the registration for Supreme Student Council (SSC) candidates to give way for those who desire to step up and become one of the many student leaders the school will have. Student leaders who are passionate and willing to provide their best so that they can make a difference, a change, to develop the school into a safer and more united place. Two partylists were created:

The S.P.A.R.K. Partylist: Students Promoting Achievement, Respect, and Knowledge. According to Elisha Moira Victorino, the highest position of this partylist, "SPARK Partylist is all about school improvement and honest leadership. We aim to improve the school every month through transparent leadership. It means the students can see and feel the improvement of our school—and the transparency of our leadership."

The R.I.S.E Partylist: Responsibility, Integrity, Service, and Excellence. The goal of the RISE Partylist is to bring positive change to the school, for the environment, and also for the students. They aim to provide honest service and keep the students informed about SSC projects.

Both the SPARK and RISE Partylists consist of students that are dedicated to serve the school to the best of their ability.

On June 27, 2026, the students from Grade 4-10 started the election for the school's Supreme Student Council (SSC). The students chose those who they thought could lead, those who can handle the responsibility, and those who would take their position seriously. This was for the partial result of the election. On June 29, 2026, the rest of the students voted to choose their future leaders.

At last, on June 30, 2026, the winners of the election were announced to the entire school. The court errupted with applause as the chosen students finally stepped up the stage, ready to take on every challenge, every hurdle, as SNASR's Supreme Student Council (SSC) for S.Y. 2026-2027.

This publication would not have been possible without the dedication and support of many individuals. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Mrs. Mary Consultado, Head Adviser of The Ninian Blaze, for her guidance, encouragement, and unwavering commitment to student journalism. Her leadership and dedication have played a vital role in helping our staff grow as writers, editors, and communicators.

We also thank our school administrators, teachers, contributors, photographers, artists, and student journalists who devoted their time and effort to bringing this issue to life. We also thank our fellow Ninians and the entire school community for inspiring the stories that fill these pages and for continuously supporting student journalism.

𝗧𝗡𝗕 𝗡𝗘𝗪𝗦 - ‎𝗦𝗡𝗔𝗦𝗥 𝗙𝗶𝗲𝗹𝗱.𝗧𝗿𝗶𝗽 2025: 𝗔 𝗝𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗲𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗮𝘀𝘁

‎On October 2, 2025, Sto. Niño Academy of San Rafael, Inc. held its much-awaited annual educational field trip. This activity gave students from both the elementary and high school departments a chance to explore, learn, and bond beyond the classroom.
‎
‎The Pre-elementary pupils from Grades 1 to 3 visited Intramuros, The Dessert Museum, had lunch at SM Mall of Asia, and explored the wonders of Manila Ocean Park. Meanwhile, Elementary to high school students embarked on a more historical yet thrilling journey through Fort Santiago, the Rizal Shrine, and Enchanted Kingdom.

‎The day started early as students, teachers, and guardians gathered at the school grounds, filled with excitement and curiosity. Before leaving, everyone joined in prayer and recited the Holy Rosary, asking for safety and guidance throughout the trip.
‎
‎The buses departed as the sun began to rise. Along the way, laughter and stories filled the air—some students chatted and shared snacks, while others quietly enjoyed the view or rested. After a short stop at NLEX for refreshments, the journey continued toward Manila.
‎
‎
‎The first stop for the elementary and high school students was the historic Fort Santiago, one of the most important landmarks in Intramuros. The group arrived a few minutes early and waited for the gates to open. Once inside, students learned about the site’s deep connection to Philippine history—particularly its role during the Spanish colonization and World War II.
‎
‎They discovered that former President Elpidio Quirino was once imprisoned there, and visited the ruins of the old American barracks. One of the highlights of the visit was the Baluarte de San Miguel, a wall made using egg whites as a bonding agent. Through its small holes, Filipino soldiers once kept watch for approaching enemies.
‎
‎The tour guide also shared how the name Maynila came from the nilad plant, which once grew abundantly in the area. Students were fascinated by these stories and eagerly took photos while exploring exhibits like the intricate Lego models of old churches and government buildings that showcased the beauty of the past.
‎
‎
‎The next itinerary was the Rizal Shrine, the preserved home where Dr. José Rizal, our national hero, was born. Inside the Spanish-style house were well-kept rooms — one for the parents, one for the boys, and one for the girl, each displaying pieces of Rizal’s early life.
‎
‎Students had the chance to see his personal belongings, such as clothing, coins, and even original copies of his famous works Noli Me Tangere and ‎El Filibusterismo. The experience helped everyone appreciate not only Rizal’s heroism but also his humble beginnings as a Filipino who loved his country deeply.
‎
‎
‎Meanwhile, the elementary pupils from Grades 1 to 3 embarked on a journey filled with learning and wonder. Their first destination was Intramuros, where they explored the walled city and gained a glimpse of the country’s Spanish colonial past. At The Dessert Museum, they learned about creativity and modern culture through interactive and colorful exhibits that blended fun with imagination. After having lunch at SM Mall of Asia, they proceeded to Manila Ocean Park, where the pupils discovered fascinating marine creatures and learned about the importance of protecting ocean life.

‎Throughout the trip, the young Ninians showed exemplary behavior and curiosity, actively engaging in every destination. The school also expresses its heartfelt appreciation to the parents and guardians who accompanied and supported their children, ensuring that the experience was both educational and memorable for everyone

‎
‎The final stop was at Enchanted Kingdom, where both excitement and joy filled the atmosphere. Before entering, everyone gathered for lunch and a short rest. However, rain began to pour just as students were preparing to explore.
‎
‎Despite the weather, the fun didn’t stop. As the rain eased, rides gradually reopened, and students once again filled the park with laughter and cheers. Many enjoyed thrilling attractions, including the newly opened EKlipse ride, while others chose calmer experiences like the carousel or Ferris wheel.
‎
‎The day ended on a high note as everyone gathered at the main plaza to watch the fireworks display. The colorful lights bursting across the sky reflected the smiles and memories of every student and teacher who joined.
‎
‎To add to this exciting and fun experience, here’s what some Ninians have to say about the field trip.
‎
‎Our first Ninian to share her thoughts is Jhianarae Pancho, a Grade 7 student. According to her,
‎
‎“I experienced a lot of unforgettable things and learned about our rich history—where it all began and the events that took place during the time of colonization. It felt meaningful to see and understand the stories of the past that shaped who we are today. Aside from that, I also had so much fun with my friends at Enchanted Kingdom. We rode many attractions, shared laughter, and cherished every moment together, making the day not only educational but also truly unforgettable.”
‎
‎Based on her experience, she truly enjoyed the field trip while learning more about the country’s history.
‎
‎A few of her fellow Ninians also shared their thoughts. One said,
‎
‎“At Fort Santiago, I felt like I time-traveled to the past.”
‎
‎Another shared,
‎
‎“At Fort Santiago, I felt like I was headed back in time. At the Rizal Shrine, everything felt unreal. I was very happy because I was able to see the things that once belonged to our national hero.”
‎
‎Our next Ninian, Erylle, a Grade 10 student, also shared her reflection:
‎
‎“As a part of the Field Trip 2025, I experienced a lot of emotions and created many memories. One of the most memorable moments for me was visiting the Rizal Shrine. I really love how it shows so many reminders of our history and how it influences our learning and growth. Even though we only explored it for a short time, I still appreciate how meaningful the experience was. I truly enjoyed every destination with the people I wanted to learn with, and I’m happy to spend my last field trip as a Junior High School student with SNASR. Thank you.”

‎To her, visiting historical places taught how deeply our past continues to shape who we are today.
‎
‎We also interviewed several students from the Elementary Department. One of them said,

‎“I was very happy to ride a ride by myself!”
‎
‎Another elementary Ninian expressed,
‎
‎“I was really happy with what I experienced during our field trip!”
‎
‎This year’s field trip was both educational and enjoyable. We didn’t just learn from museums or landmarks—we also created lasting memories with people we care about. That’s what makes trips like this truly worth it, even when things don’t go exactly as planned.

𝗧𝗡𝗕 𝗡𝗘𝗪𝗦: 𝗗𝗢𝗡'𝗧 𝗣𝗔𝗡𝗜𝗖, 𝗕𝗘 𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗗𝗬!

To strengthen disaster preparedness and ensure the safety of students and school personnel, Sto Niño Academy of San Rafael Incorporated (SNASR) successfully conducted an earthquake and fire drill on July 12, 2025. The activity aimed to raise awareness on emergency protocols and teach everyone how to respond properly during disasters.

During the earthquake drill, students practiced the “Duck, Cover, and Hold” technique. They quickly got under their desks, covered their heads, and waited for the alarm to stop. After that, they followed their teachers outside to the evacuation area, walking quickly but safely.

Right after the earthquake drill, the fire drill personnel gave a short but informative talk about fire safety, how fires can start, how to avoid them, and what to do if one breaks out.

Then, the fire drill began. This time, students and teachers practiced how to use a fire extinguisher through a live demonstration. Fire safety personnel guided everyone step-by-step, showing how to properly operate the extinguisher using the TPASS method: Twist the safety pin, Pull, Aim, Squeeze, and Sweep. This hands-on activity helped everyone understand how to respond in case of a real fire.

After the drills, the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) San Rafael Rescue Team and the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) R3 San Rafael Fire Station gave their feedback on the activity. They shared both the good points and the areas that needed improvement. They praised the students and teachers for following instructions, staying calm, and moving in an orderly way. However, they also pointed out a few things that could be done better, such as faster evacuation time and avoiding unnecessary noise during the drill. Their comments will help the school improve future drills and become even more prepared.

𝐖𝐄𝐋𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐄 𝐓𝐎 2025-2026, 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐂𝐋𝐔𝐁𝐒 𝐅𝐎𝐑 𝐍𝐈𝐍𝐈𝐀𝐍𝐒

Last Friday, June 27, 2025, Sto Niño Academy of San Rafael kicked off its club season in the very first week of the school year, inviting students from Kindergarten to Grade 10 to discover new talents, build skills, and grow through exciting club activities.

It was around 2:00 PM when the school bell rang, and students began lining up in front of their classrooms to head to the school court, where important announcements are usually shared. Ma’am Lanie Lee Suba, our vice-principal and academic supervisor, stood before the students to announce and explain the different clubs available this year. She introduced the Academic Alliance, a club for students who enjoy using their wits and excelling in academic challenges. The EN Gamers was introduced next, catering to those who are passionate about sports like basketball, volleyball, and more. For students who love to sing and wish to hone their vocal abilities, the Himig club was presented. Paint Pals welcomed creative individuals who enjoy drawing and exploring the world of visual art. The Rolling Pin offered students the chance to learn how to cook, bake, and even explore selling their products using basic marketing strategies. The Shutter’s Guild was created for photography enthusiasts who enjoy capturing beautiful sceneries, events, and everyday moments in the Sto Niño Academy community. Finally, for students who love to groove and shake their bodies, Step up Movers is the club aligned for them. Students listened with excitement, while others were already chatting with friends about which club they hoped to join. The buzz of conversation grew, and the court became louder with anticipation. Ma’am Lanie reminded everyone to first take their break and return by 2:30 PM. Even as each grade level made their way back to their classrooms, many students continued to talk excitedly about which club they were planning to join.

Later, after the break, students once again lined up in the court, where Ma’am Lanie announced the designated rooms for each club: Room 1 for Academic Alliance, Room 2 for Paint Pals, Room 3 for Step Up, Room 4 for Rolling Pins, and Room 5 for Shutters Guild. For the elementary department, Room 11 was assigned to Himig, while the EN Gamers used the entire basketball court.
Each club then introduced themselves, explaining their purpose, passion, and sharing examples of past members’ contributions. Following the introductions, clubs elected their officers—including president, vice president, secretary, treasurer, and auditor.

Some clubs shared their unique systems. For example, Rolling Pins, according to President Ayesha Villangca, developed a “buddy-buddy” system where one high school student mentors one elementary student to teach them how to cook, bake, and sell products. The campus journalists also introduced their editorial hierarchy: an editor-in-chief from Grade 10, a managing editor from Grade 9, and associate editors from Grade 8. Each year, the roles shift as older students graduate, and new editors rise to take their place, with new associate editors selected from the incoming Grade 8 batch.

After the election of officers, clubs immediately got to work. The EN Gamers, led by their adviser and athletic coordinator, launched tryouts for BULPRISA events including basketball, volleyball, badminton, ping pong, and chess. Himig began vocal warm-ups and breathing exercises, while also classifying members into voice parts such as soprano, alto, tenor, and bass. Meanwhile, Academic Alliance members began visiting different club rooms to observe their activities and collect information for future documentation and reports.

As the day neared its end, students began packing up and cleaning their areas. Moments later, the bell rang, and everyone lined up for the closing ceremony before heading home. The club launch was a successful event, creating an active and exciting atmosphere for all. With students already participating, officers elected, and official tryouts underway for BULPRISA 2025–2026, it’s clear that this will be a fun, productive, and meaningful school year.

A new dawn begins for Sto. Niño Academy of San Rafael as we embark on an exhilarating journey full of valuable lessons, enriching experiences and soon-to-be unforgettable memories.

On June 23, 2025 students and teachers alike start their mornings early, preparing for the first day of classes. Many of them are both delighted and anxious, as this new school year is shrouded in uncertainty of the future, but also holds many doors of opportunity waiting to be unlocked. Upon passing the entrance, they are greeted with many familiar figures, as well as fresh new faces. Students reunite with their fellow pupils, rekindling old friendships and lighting new ones.

Upon reaching the covered court, the students are welcomed by the teachers, and the teachers are greeted by the students. With summer break coming to a close, everyone gets reacquainted while the faculty, along with the new personable teachers are introduced on stage. The first day is met with a bustling crowd competing for which grade level is the most lively and energetic through their cheers. It is difficult to spot a dull moment, for some of our talented students showcased their prowess and grace with special intermission numbers. It's a new beginning, with new pages to flip, new chapters to read, and new paths to traverse.

Upon reaching the classroom, it is time to get to know each other a little more. The teachers meet their students who they will be discovering countless new worlds in their lessons with, and the students familiarize themselves with their second parents, who will be guiding them throughout all that is to come. Each personality is introduced, and the students are given an overview of the curriculum, carving a general outline for them in navigating the challenges, but also the growth that’s in the horizon. It is high time for these learners to get acquainted with the new teachers, the changes, the trials, and the growth that this new school year is brimming with.

This year is like fertile soil, perfect for sowing seeds of knowledge and cultivating our skills and gifted talents. It lies upon us to nurture and propagate a fruitful experience each day. It is time for us to bloom into the best versions of ourselves and tap into our greatest potentials!
