Calling all fur-parents and their furry companions! Get ready to dress up, match, and proudly showcase your Pinoy Pride! 🇵🇭✨

The City Government of Santa Rosa, through the City Veterinary Office, invites everyone to the 22nd Mayor Leon C. Arcillas Dog Exhibit and Pet Blessing on October 10, 2026 (Saturday) at Waltermart Bel-Air, Brgy. Don Jose, City of Santa Rosa, Laguna.

One of the event highlights is the Best in Costume: Fur-ent Twinning (Dog & Fur-parent), open to all Philippine residents who are willing to come and participate.

🐶 FUR-ENT TWINNING: PINOY PRIDE

Fur-parent and dog tandems must wear matching or complementary costumes inspired by the theme “Pinoy Pride.” Please note that Philippine flag-inspired attire should not be worn or used.

Participating dogs must have an updated anti-rabies vaccination, and their vaccination cards must be presented during the event. Pets must also wear diapers at all times while inside the venue, and fur-parents are responsible for cleaning up after their pets as needed.

• 40% – Originality/Adherence to Theme
• 30% – Overall Design
• 15% – Modelling Ability and Bearing
• 10% – Handler’s Outfit
• 5% – Audience Impact

🥇 First Place – ₱30,000 + Plaque
🥈 Second Place – ₱20,000 + Plaque
🥉 Third Place – ₱10,000 + Plaque

Sometimes, the most important lessons children learn in school have nothing to do with textbooks.

In a classroom in Peru, a young boy named Lopez showed just how big a child’s heart can be. Facing difficult circumstances at home, he had one simple worry—his small, fluffy dog, Pequeña, would be left all alone while he was at school.

Gathering his courage, Lopez asked his teacher, Ali Bonilla Esteban, if there was any way his beloved companion could come with him.

She didn’t just hear his question—she understood it.

Wanting to support him and ease his worries, she welcomed Pequeña into the classroom. And from that moment on, everything changed.

No longer distracted or anxious, Lopez was able to focus, relax, and simply be a kid again. His happiness returned, and it showed in his work and his smile.

But the impact didn’t stop with him.

Pequeña quickly became a source of comfort and joy for the entire class, brightening the room in a way no lesson plan ever could. What started as one small act of compassion turned into something much bigger—a shared sense of warmth, connection, and understanding.

In the end, this wasn’t just about letting a dog into a classroom.

It was about listening, about kindness, and about recognizing that sometimes the best way to help a child succeed… is to care about what matters most to them. 🐾❤️
