Welcome, ACians!

The Aldersgate College Library and Learning Resource Center (ACLLRC) conducted a Library Orientation for our freshmen and transferees on August 24–25, 2026, at AVR 1, as part of its Current Awareness Service.

The orientation introduced our new ACians to the library’s collections, resources, services, facilities, policies, borrowing procedures, and research tools, helping them become familiar and confident library users. 📚💻

Through this activity, we aim to equip our students with the knowledge and skills to effectively access, evaluate, and utilize information in support of their academic journey.

📚✨ 4th Librarians Summit 2026✨📚

The Chief Librarian, Ma’am Charline G. Barut, RL, MLIS, together with Library Staff Sir Joluzalem B. Omingle, proudly represented Aldersgate College, Inc. at the 4th Librarians Summit, anchored on the theme:

“𝑹𝒆𝒅𝒆𝒇𝒊𝒏𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑳𝒊𝒃𝒓𝒂𝒓𝒊𝒂𝒏𝒔𝒉𝒊𝒑 𝒊𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑬𝒓𝒂 𝒐𝒇 𝑫𝒊𝒈𝒊𝒕𝒂𝒍 𝑻𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒔𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒎𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑰𝒏𝒏𝒐𝒗𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏.”

A meaningful and enriching gathering of 81 librarians, library professionals, educators, and stakeholders, the 4th Librarians Summit provided a platform for learning, collaboration, and reflection on the evolving role of librarians in the digital age. 💻📖

The summit featured insightful sessions on professional identity and purpose, AI and misinformation, digital resources, archives management, strategic planning, and the future direction of the library profession.

🎤 Mr. Joseph M. Yap, PhD, Associate Professor of UP Diliman, shared valuable insights on "Finding Your Purpose: The Librarians’ Struggle for Identity in the Community" and "Maximizing Digital Resources Most Economically: AI and the Fight Against Misinformation."

🗂️ Ms. Carina C. Samaniego, RL, College Librarian of UPFI Film Archives and Library – UP Diliman, discussed the fundamentals of establishing an archives section or unit.

📋 Mr. Michael A. Pinto, RL, Provincial Librarian of CPLRC, facilitated "Cascading Your Plans to Ensure Proper Implementation", followed by a workshop and presentation of outputs where participants translated ideas into actionable plans.

The summit also featured product demonstrations showcasing resources, educational materials, and information solutions for libraries and learning institutions.

The final session, "What Do We Expect for PLAI: Plans and Directions", was delivered by Dr. Juliet D. Villanueva, RL, President of PLAI-CVLRC, highlighting opportunities and directions for strengthening the library profession.

A special highlight of the Fellowship Night was the recognition of Ma’am Charline G. Barut, RL, MLIS, as “Best in Denim”! ✨ Congratulations, Ma’am Charline, on this fun and well-deserved recognition!

✨ Truly, the summit reminded us that librarianship continues to evolve—and so must we.
