As temperatures rise, protect yourself and your loved ones from heat-related illnesses. Drink plenty of water even before you feel thirsty, wear lightweight and breathable clothing, and stay indoors or in cool, air-conditioned places whenever possible.

HIGH HEAT INDEX: LIMIT COFFEE INTAKE
During periods of very high heat index, itโ€™s best to limit excessive coffee and other highly caffeinated drinks.
โ˜• Caffeine can have a mild diuretic effect, especially in people who are not accustomed to it. More importantly, coffee may not be the best choice for replacing fluids and electrolytes lost through sweating.
๐Ÿ’ง Stay hydrated: Drink plenty of water throughout the day and consider fluids with electrolytes when sweating heavily.
โš ๏ธ Avoid excessive caffeine, alcohol, and strenuous outdoor activities during peak heat. Watch for warning signs such as dizziness, headache, nausea, unusual weakness, confusion, or fainting, which may indicate heat-related illness.
๐ŸŒก๏ธ Stay cool. Stay hydrated. Stay safe.

Executive Order to follow.
