ARE YOU REALLY ON TRACK FOR RETIREMENT? 🤔

You may be earning well today.

You may already have savings.

You may even have insurance and investments.

But here's the question:

Do you know if what you're doing today is enough for the retirement lifestyle you want?

Many people focus on:

❌ “Magkano na ang naipon ko?”

But a better question is:

✅ “Will my money be enough for the years when I no longer have an active income?”

Here are 5 things worth checking:

1️⃣ Do you know how much you'll need every month in retirement?

2️⃣ Do you have a specific retirement age or timeline?

3️⃣ Are you consistently building your retirement fund?

4️⃣ Do you have more than one potential source of retirement income?

5️⃣ Have you reviewed your plan recently?

If you answered “I'm not sure” to several of these, that's not a reason to panic.

It's a reason to start checking your numbers.

💡 Retirement planning isn't about predicting the future perfectly.

It's about understanding where you are today, identifying the gap, and knowing what actions you can take while you still have time.

Want to check your retirement readiness?

I'm preparing a simple 3-Minute Retirement Readiness Check to help you identify the areas you may need to review.

💬 Comment “RETIRE” or send me a DM with RETIRE and I'll send you the details.

‼️‼️‼️BAKIT KAILANGAN NG OFW NG INSURANCE?‼️‼️‼️

OFW KA. IKAW ANG SUMASAGOT SA PAMILYA MO.

PERO… SINO ANG SASALO SA PAMILYA MO KUNG HINDI KA NA MAKAPAGTRABAHO?

Bakit mahalaga ang insurance sa isang OFW?

Because your biggest asset isn't just your savings.

IT'S YOUR ABILITY TO EARN.

Habang nagtatrabaho ka abroad, may mga taong umaasa sa income mo:

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Pamilya
🏠 Bahay
🎓 Education ng mga anak
💳 Mga financial obligations
💰 Savings at future goals

Pero paano kung magkaroon ng unexpected event at biglang mawala o mabawasan ang income mo?

That's where financial protection becomes part of the conversation.

5 THINGS AN OFW SHOULD CONSIDER:

① INCOME PROTECTION

⑤ RETIREMENT
Pag-uwi mo sa Pilipinas, may sarili ka bang retirement fund—or kailangan mo pa ring magtrabaho?

HINDI LANG DAPAT “PADALA” ANG PINAPLANO NG OFW.

DAPAT MAY PROTECTION DIN.

Because earning money abroad is one thing.

Protecting the income that your family depends on is another.

💬 OFW KA BA O MAY OFW SA PAMILYA?

Message me “OFW PLAN” and let's discuss your financial priorities.

Insurance products have different benefits, costs, exclusions, and policy conditions. A financial plan should be based on your individual needs and circumstances.

I USED TO THINK EARNING MORE MEANT WORKING MORE.

But I've learned that there's another question worth asking:

“How can I make better use of what I already know, have, and can learn?”

Because sometimes the next step isn't about doing more.

It's about becoming more intentional with what you already have.
Your skills.
Your knowledge.
Your experience.
Your network.
Your time.
Your ideas.

And then asking:

“How can I turn these into something valuable?”

That's one of the ideas behind Smart Income With Sheila.

I'm not here to tell you there's a magic formula for making money.

I'm here to share what I'm learning about:

💡 Creating income opportunities
📱 Exploring digital business
📈 Building additional income streams
🧠 Developing useful skills
🛡️ Protecting what we work hard to build
🌱 Thinking about long-term financial growth

Because I believe financial growth shouldn't just be about earning more.

It should also be about learning more, thinking better, and making more intentional decisions.

So here's my question for you:

If you could improve ONE area of your financial life this year, what would it be?

More income?
Better money habits?
Starting a business?
Learning a new skill?
Building protection?
Planning for the future?

Tell me in the comments. I'd love to know. ❤️

Before you buy, understand the whole picture.

Don't make your financial decision based on one number alone.

Ask:

① How much do I put in?
② When do I receive the benefits?
③ What happens if I die early?
④ What do my beneficiaries receive?

Because a financial product should be evaluated based on your goals, cash flow, protection needs, time horizon, and the policy's actual terms and conditions.

Want to review your financial priorities?

MESSAGE ME “PLAN”

Let's have a financial planning discussion.

DON'T ASK ONLY: “HOW MUCH WILL I EARN?”

When choosing a financial product, many people immediately focus on the potential return.

But a proper financial conversation should go beyond that.
Ask:
✅ How much will I contribute?
✅ How long will I need to pay?
✅ When will I receive the benefits?
✅ What protection do I have while the plan is active?
✅ What happens to my beneficiaries if I die unexpectedly?
✅ What happens when the plan reaches maturity?

Because financial planning isn't just about making money.

It's also about **protecting the money, managing risk, and preparing for the people who depend on you.

Before you commit to any financial product, understand the numbers, the benefits, the limitations, and the policy terms.

📩 MESSAGE ME “PLAN” if you want to discuss your financial goals and see what options may fit your situation.

Financial products have different features, costs, risks, and conditions. Always review the official policy illustration and contract before making a decision.*

WORKING TO FINISH🎓

For Jaymark, staying in college means working even when classes are over.

The fourth-year HRM student shared that he lost both of his parents and now helps shoulder his own expenses while trying to finish his degree. On Saturdays and Sundays, he takes construction work to earn money for school and his daily needs.

Recently, Jaymark applied for the ₱20,000 educational assistance under the Bagong Pilipinas Barangay Scholars component of the Bawat Barangay Makikinabang Program.

He was later informed that he was not among the beneficiaries selected in his barangay.

During an interview, Jaymark became emotional while talking about the result. He explained that the assistance would have been especially useful as he prepares for his upcoming on-the-job training, which comes with additional expenses on top of the costs he is already trying to manage as a working student.

Under DILG Memorandum Circular No. 2026-038, each barangay is allotted ₱100,000 for five scholars, with each beneficiary receiving ₱20,000 as a “Finisher Fund.” The program is intended for incoming fourth-year college students from vulnerable households who are at risk of dropping out, with priority given to families with no college graduate. Barangays may also set additional criteria as long as these are documented and applied fairly and transparently.

That also means the program has only five scholarship slots per barangay, even when several applicants may be facing genuine financial difficulties.

At this time, there is no verified public explanation establishing exactly why Jaymark was not selected. Claims circulating online about other beneficiaries should therefore not be treated as confirmed facts without official evidence.

What is clear from Jaymark’s own story is the effort he continues to put into reaching graduation.

He studies during the week, works construction on weekends, and is now preparing for OJT while trying to cover the expenses that come with finishing college.

For many students in similar situations, ₱20,000 is not simply extra money. It can mean transportation, meals, school requirements, OJT expenses, and one less financial obstacle between them and graduation.

Jaymark may not have received the assistance he hoped for, but he said he remains determined to finish what he started.

Maybe you don't need another job. Maybe you need another way to use what you already have.

For years, I've explored different ways of creating income.

I've experienced financial services.
I've sold products online.
I've explored affiliate marketing.
I've created customized products.
I've worked with events and rentals.
I've learned digital marketing and content creation.

And one thing I've realized:

There isn't only one way to earn.

Sometimes, we already have skills, experiences, connections, creativity, or knowledge that can become valuable to someone else.

The challenge is figuring out:

What do I have?
Who needs it?
How can I turn it into value?
And how can I build it sustainably?

That's what I want to explore here.

I'm not here to tell you that there's a magic formula for making money.

I'm here to share what I'm learning, what I've experienced, what I'm testing, and the practical lessons I've picked up along the way.

We'll talk about:
💡 Finding income opportunities
🛠️ Turning skills into offers
📱 Digital and online business
🛍️ Selling and marketing
💰 Financial confidence
🔄 Building multiple income streams
🛡️ Protecting what you build
📈 Growing sustainably

Because earning more isn't just about having more money.

It's about having more options.

And I believe we can build those options one step at a time.

So let me start by asking you:

If you could create one additional source of income this year, what would you want it to come from?

👇 Tell me in the comments.

Maybe your answer will become the starting point for our next conversation.

I'm Sheila. Welcome to Smart Income with Sheila. ❤️
