🏔️ Mount Everest Was Once Under the Ocean! 🌊➡️🏔️
Did you know that marine rocks and fossils are found high in the Himalayas, including the Everest region? 🌍
Millions of years ago, these sediments were deposited in the Tethys Sea. Later, the Indian Plate moved northward and collided with the Eurasian Plate, causing intense compression, folding, faulting, and uplift.
Over millions of years, rocks that were once deposited in an ancient marine environment were pushed upward to form the mighty Himalayas. 🏔️
🦪 The fossils are geological evidence of this incredible journey—from ancient seafloor to the world’s highest mountains.
Earth’s rocks remember what happened millions of years ago. 🌍🔎

Did you know? 🌍
The continents we see today were once joined together as one enormous supercontinent called Pangaea.
Around 300 million years ago, most of Earth’s landmasses were connected. But Earth’s tectonic plates are constantly moving—just a few centimeters each year.
Over millions of years, these movements slowly broke Pangaea apart and created the continents we know today.
India began drifting northward and eventually collided with the Eurasian Plate, helping to uplift the Himalayas. 🏔️
And the story isn’t over—the continents are still moving today.
🌎 Earth’s map is constantly changing… just incredibly slowly!

Why Do Earthquakes and Tsunamis Happen in Japan? 🌏🌊 | The Geological Reason
Japan is located in one of the most tectonically active regions on Earth, where several tectonic plates interact.
The Pacific Plate and Philippine Sea Plate are being forced beneath other plates along subduction zones. When stress suddenly releases along these faults, a powerful undersea earthquake can occur.
If the seafloor suddenly moves upward or downward, it can displace a huge volume of seawater and generate a tsunami. 🌊
