RDF’s Heat Stroke Relief Camps under the NCA Emergency Project continue to support vulnerable communities in Umerkot and Kunri by providing ORS, safe drinking water, and heatwave awareness services.

During visits to the camps, Mr. Naveed Ur Rehman Larik, Deputy Commissioner Umerkot, Mr. Rajab Sathio, Assistant Commissioner Umerkot, Mr. Muhammad Khan Bhangwar, Assistant Commissioner Kunri and Prof. Vice Chancellor Syed Zia Shah, Agriculture University Umerkot, appreciated RDF’s efforts and highlighted the importance of such initiatives in protecting communities during extreme heat conditions.

RDF and WHH, under the Skill Up Plus Project, held strategic meetings with STEVTA and ZABTech to strengthen partnerships and promote market-driven technical and vocational education opportunities for youth in Sindh.

RDF and MITI Karachi have signed a Strategic Partnership MoU under the Skill Up Project, supported by Welthungerhilfe (WHH), to strengthen technical and vocational education and enable young people to develop skills that lead to better employment opportunities.

The MoU was signed by Mr. Niaz Hussain Sial on behalf of RDF and Mr. H. M. Shahzad, Chairman MITI. Following the signing ceremony, Ms. Isabel Bogorinsky, Head of Program, Welthungerhilfe (WHH), Mr. Akmal Khan, Project Coordinator TVET, and the RDF team visited MITI’s training facilities. The team appreciated MITI’s efforts and commitment towards equipping young people with industry-relevant technical skills.

Bringing together diverse voices and experiences is essential for strengthening the TVET sector. Under the Skill Up PLUS Project, RDF facilitated the 3rd Provincial Knowledge and Learning Sharing Hub Meeting at STEVTA Headquarters, Karachi.

Welcoming the participants, Mr. Ghulam Murtaza Shaikh, Managing Director STEVTA, shared the authority’s ongoing efforts to modernize and strengthen technical and vocational education through reforms, digitalization, industry linkages, and innovative training approaches.

The gathering provided a valuable platform for government institutions, development partners, and TVET stakeholders to exchange ideas, share experiences, and discuss emerging priorities, including green skills, entrepreneurship, Public-Private Partnerships, and youth employment.

The discussions reflected a shared commitment to building a more responsive, inclusive, and future-oriented skills development system in Sindh.

Representing RDF, Mr. Niaz Sial, Community Development Advisor, Mr. Aftab Soomro, Program Coordinator–TVET, and Mr. Aftab Akhund, Manager M&E, Learning and Documentation, actively contributed to the dialogue and knowledge-sharing process.
