Vegetable Crops Research Program

This program is one of the four Research Components working under Horticultural Research Institute (HRI), NARC, Islamabad. The Program is dedicated to ensuring national food security through advance research in the field of agriculture sciences. With a team of efficient and highly skilled scientists, VCRP is working on development of new high yielding cultivars in all major vegetable crops i.e. Besides, through Kitchen Gardening initiatives, hundreds of farmers, agricultural graduates, researchers have received training in household vegetables production through safe and improved cultural practices. The program has been also involved in providing around the year nurseries of all important vegetables to the farmers and kitchen gardening practitioners. Besides, the team of scientists are available to provide technical support and information to farmers and researchers about advanced vegetable farming, off season production, post harvest procedures, and value addition.
