Before and After — A Journey from Straw to Strength

In the quiet village of Usta Mohammad, a man once stood before a fragile shelter of straw and sticks a place he called home. The 2022 floods had washed away not only his house but also the sense of safety his family once knew. Each day was a struggle beneath the weight of uncertainty, yet he never lost hope that one day, life would rebuild itself.

That day finally came through the Housing Reconstruction Unit (HRU) IFRAP Balochistan, under the Ministry of Planning, Development and Special Initiatives, Government of Pakistan.

Today, where once stood a makeshift hut, now rises a vibrant, resilient house beautifully painted in blue and gold, reflecting the strength and spirit of its people. The walls are strong, the roof secure, and the home filled with renewed pride and dignity.

This transformation is not just about bricks and mortar, it’s about restoring lives, dreams, and hope. Under the HRU IFRAP initiative, thousands of such families across flood-affected districts of Balochistan are rebuilding their futures one home at a time.

From despair to dignity, this is the story of resilience, rebuilt by the people, for the people, with the unwavering support of the Government of Pakistan.
