“Newsvendor” presents systems of information transmission that are both archaic and surprisingly timeless. A kinetic installation, resembling a slide or a lottery machine, delivers a binary verdict every four minutes. Its form evokes both the promise of success and the structures that predetermine failure.

For Liste 2026, we present Piotrek Kowalski and Tomek Tofilski, whose practices explore the city as both a material environment and a space of imagination, shaped by intersecting systems, structures, and mechanisms.

Both artists work through close observation of their surroundings, drawing on familiar urban landscapes as a point of departure for reflecting on contemporary conditions of life and perception.
