UP150R on set 💡
A lens test during pre-production for a feature film 🎬
and his team, & , set up several scenes to test the lenses under different lighting conditions.
For this shot, the scene was framed against a bright outdoor background. A soft fill light was added camera left using an 8×8 diffusion frame, while the Godox UP150R was positioned behind the camera as an additional fill light.
A real on-set lighting test, built around the needs of the scene.

How to create a cinematic night look with 3 lights? 🌙
Here’s the setup:
🔦 RS100R — Key Light
Creates the cool, directional light that shapes the subject.
💡 RS60R — Fill Light
Brings back just enough detail in the shadows.
✨ C7R — Ambient Light
Adds warmth and depth to the background.
Cool subject. Warm atmosphere. One cinematic night scene.
Would you try this 3-light setup? 👀

THIS THING IS BRIGHT!
Most lights make you choose between output and control. The LE300Bi doesn't.
300W of bi-color, full app control from my pocket, and it holds its color from the first take to the last.
This one's living on my truck.

Creating a mood with just one light
Blue hour is probably my favourite time to shoot with RGB lights because you already have that cool ambient tone, so you can bring in a warm colour like red and create this strong contrast. We shot this on a hill above the city to add a bit of story and depth.
I placed the LP600R light slightly to the side and behind the subject to create that red edge and cinematic separation.
Sometimes one light is all you need.

Everyone thinks neon noir needs a location. It doesn't.
This whole thing lives in ~30m² - one flat, split across the room, the living room and the bathroom. Same walls, same corners, just different light doing different jobs. Cold wash pulling her out of the dark, a hard red cutting across the frame, a soft ambient holding the room together. Feel first, then I placed the lights.
That's the part nobody tells you: the mood isn't in the space, it's in what you point at it.
