Our 2026 theme draws inspiration from an unexpected source: a line from the film “Home Alone 2.” The quote, “Maybe they don't forget about you, but they forget to remember you,” underscores the importance of actively remembering the individuals who served, especially those whose stories risk being lost to time.

Planning ahead is one of the greatest gifts you can give your loved ones.

Did you know that eligible Veterans can apply for a Pre-Need Eligibility Determination from the National Cemetery Administration before the need arises?

A Pre-Need Eligibility Determination can:
✅ Confirm your eligibility for burial in a VA national cemetery
✅ Provide peace of mind for you and your family
✅ Help ensure your burial wishes are known
✅ Reduce stress on loved ones during a difficult time
✅ Keep important records organized and readily available

The process is simple and can be completed online through VA.gov. Once approved, keep your eligibility determination with your important documents and let your family know where it can be found.

NCA in partnership with Carry The Load and Just Serve is organizing the 9/11 National Day of Service to commemorate the 25th anniversary of 9/11. The event includes a brief ceremony and instructions to volunteers on headstone cleaning and beautification. This is a great service opportunity for employee engagement, youth groups, and individuals. Participants are encouraged to post on a Veteran's memorial page at VA's Veterans Legacy Memorial at www.vlm.cem.va.gov
