FENESTRAS

Apart from the common definition of curtain - which alludes to a body that neglects light and can directly disassociate interior spaces from exterior atmospheres and natural surroundings- FENESTRAS are light-diffusing curtains that transcend the barrier between interior and exterior spaces, while embracing natural light. The design itself becomes an interior skin that plays with an ensemble of juxtaposed layers of perforated textiles with changing densities, sequences and pleated forms. Through layered perforations or screen like filters, a duality of shades and light is refracted -creating patterns of chiaroscuros that disseminate in all directions. The final piece is a sculpted wall- carefully and individually designed, crafted, delivered and installed- and a promising conversation piece to be.
