O Iminente está de volta e estamos muito contentes por voltar a participar no festival. E desta vez, é para celebrar 10 anos em grande.

De 17 a 20 de setembro, a antiga Escola Afonso Domingues, em Marvila, transforma-se em quatro dias de música, artes visuais, performance, talks e encontros que só podiam acontecer aqui.

Uma orquestra. Um soundsystem que mexe com o estômago. Salas de aula transformadas em instalações. Fado de um lado, drill do outro. Mais de 100 atuações, instalações e exposições, com artistas nacionais e internacionais, estreias, regressos e espetáculos pensados para estes dias e estes palcos.

O cartaz já está na rua. Os bilhetes também.

São 10 anos de Iminente.

We’ve been thinking about how easy it is to act as if things are separate from us.As if what’s happening belongs to someone else. But in one way or another, we’re all inside the same reality.
What we do, say, ignore or support doesn’t stop with us. It moves outward.
It affects the space we share. At the same time, it pushes back against the instinct to divide everything into sides.We may not agree, we may not live the same lives, but we’re still part of the same whole.
There’s no outside position. We’re in it together.

TRUTH
More views of our anamorphic floor mural for in Amsterdam, Netherlands.

We live in a world where truth is constantly under pressure. Some truths are hidden, buried under layers of manipulation. Others are rising, being discovered and revealed.

The letters overlap and emerge from the ground in a way that makes it unclear whether the word is being buried or rising. Only from a single point of view does it appear whole and undistorted.

In a time when reality can be twisted from every side, things can feel contradictory, confusing, impossible to read. And yet, truth exists. To see it clearly, we need to find the right perspective.

LOST, Point of View n.3

Currently on view at GRAVE 5 collective show
at .caldas in Caldas da Rainha, Portugal.

Point of View is a series of paintings that starts from words and questions how fixed their meaning really is.

We choose words that tend to carry tension, words that shift with context, experience, and perspective. Instead of showing them clearly, we paint only fragments of them.

While painting, we move away from the meaning of the word. The focus shifts to form, gesture, material, and surface. Brushstrokes, layers, and adjustments remain visible, allowing the painting to develop on its own terms.

The word stays present, but unsettled. What remains is not a definition, but a word seen from a particular point of view.

DAM GOOD WEEK
We had an amazing time at in Amsterdam, painting two new artworks: an anamorphic floor mural and a large canvas piece for the museum’s permanent collection.

Huge thanks to the entire STRAAT team for having us, for the warm welcome, and for the incredible production support throughout the whole process ✌️❤️

REMEMBER
It’s been a while since we last painted a handsaw. Coming back to it felt familiar, but also different. This time we painted it more focused on texture and on the act of painting.

“Remember” felt right for this piece, as it speaks to where the handsaw came from, the hands that used it, and the weight of a family tool as a relic of care.

MK. Campo polidesportivo do Bairro Amarelo, Monte da Caparica. 🌈

A convite do MK.Comum, pintámos este campo a partir de um processo colaborativo com crianças e jovens da comunidade, desenvolvido em conjunto com o André Neves .

Na sessão criativa surgiram várias palavras: amizade, alegria, união, respeito, liberdade… mas a que mais se destacou foi MK. O “MK”, além de designar o Monte da Caparica, representa também o sentido de comunidade deste bairro.
Foi este sentimento de comunidade que inspirou o desenho do campo: letras grandes e coloridas que pretendem trazer energia e dinamismo ao espaço. As formas orgânicas e elementos gráficos podem ser usados pelas crianças para inventar jogos e brincadeiras, tornando o espaço mais inclusivo e adaptado às diferentes idades.

MK. Bairro Amarelo sports court, Monte da Caparica. 🌈

Invited by MK.Comum, we painted this court through a collaborative process with children and young people from the local community, developed together with André Neves .

In the creative session, several words came up: friendship, joy, unity, respect, freedom… but the one that stood out the most was MK. “MK”, besides referring to Monte da Caparica, also represents a sense of community in this neighbourhood.
This sense of community inspired the design of the court: large, colourful letters that bring energy and movement to the space. Organic shapes and graphic elements can be used by children to invent games and ways of playing, making the space more inclusive and adaptable to different ages.
