Hoje, a Carvoeiro Branco e a ANTRIX formalizaram a doação do espólio documental e arquivístico do Museu da Cortiça ao Município de Silves.

Um arquivo que guarda uma parte importante da história da indústria corticeira e da própria cidade de Silves passa, assim, definitivamente para a esfera pública, onde poderá ser preservado para as próximas gerações.

Depois de devolvermos o Museu da Cortiça à comunidade, este é mais um passo no compromisso com a preservação da memória e do património da Fábrica do Inglês.

Porque recuperar património não é apenas recuperar edifícios. É preservar as histórias que lhes dão significado.

Today, Carvoeiro Branco and ANTRIX formally donated the documentary and archival collection of the Cork Museum to the Municipality of Silves.

An archive that preserves an important part of the history of the cork industry and of Silves itself now permanently returns to public ownership, where it can be safeguarded for future generations.

Following the reopening of the Cork Museum to the community, this marks another step in our commitment to preserving the memory and heritage of Fábrica do Inglês.

Because restoring heritage is not only about restoring buildings. It is about preserving the stories that give them meaning.

Cork comes from the interior. So does the art that questions the world. The Museu da Cortiça holds the first. Museu Zero produces the second.

Antrix believes in this territory, in what it preserves, what it creates, what endures.

In 1830, Portuguese cork left the Algarve for the great industrial centres of Europe.

That's not just history. It's the foundation on which Silves grew — and on which the Museu da Cortiça, at Fábrica do Inglês, built its argument.
In the barrocal, Museu Zero extends the same logic: creation doesn't need a coastline to happen.

The Algarve has more memory than it seems. These are the roots Antrix chooses to build on.
