Espada Negra - HEMA Study Group

And here's a few snippets from our participation in the inauguration ceremony of Seixaliadas. We took to the streets with sabres and had a good workout.
We should probably also get a banner for ourselves but we were more than proud to carry Soc. Fil. União Seixalense flag who has been our home for the past 6 years already.

The series continues with Plate 30 of the rapier and dagger section.
Although I did note it in the video, it's also worth noting here, that figure F's dagger seems to be pointing up despite the description mentioning a parry downwards.
Despite this the overall mechanic and ex*****on doesn't change much whether the parry is made with point up or down but I do believe the text is the correct one for the plate even after examining the original Italian version.

A follow up to the previous post in which I posted some snippets of the interpretation of this plate. Sharing here the full video that's up on my club's channel.
Hope some of you out there find this useful.

I'm thinking about sharing future ones as reels instead on IG, but need to figure out the cropping. But that'll be some testing for later, in the meantime that's another plate done.

Rui Ferreira - HEMA Instructor finally takes an in-depth look at his current fencing mask. After receiving a few messages about it, he felt it was time to make a more in-depth review after 2 years of heavy use.
We're talking about of course of Leon Paul's Titan X-Change mask, one of the remnants of Leon Paul's HEMA line.
Overall it's still a shame they dropped the contour coaching mask, but as he only "HEMA" mask they own it was the natural upgrade.
What's your experience with it? Drop us a comment and let us know if you agree or disagree with Rui's takes on it.

And as an added note, we're sorry the final part of the video went without audio, something went wrong with the microphone so Rui had to re-record the audio which means the lip sync might be off, but the content is still the same.

Full review up and running, Ferreira - HEMA Instructor tested these out and it's time to share the results. Rui figured they weren't that well known outside of italy so it only felt appropriate to work on a review of an excellent pair of 5 fingered gloves.

In the meantime it seems Fenice did launch their storefront and don't forget, you can use the code Rui10 for a 10% discount when you place the order.

Full disclosure though, this isn't a sponsored add, Rui paid for the gloves in full. But as a celebratory thing they were kind enough to throw in a 10% discount.

Last couple of Sundays we had the pleasure of once again being a part of Quetzal Nerd Camp .
Aided by our set of Ruis (Rui Almeida and Rui Santos ) our instructor Rui Ferreira - HEMA Instructor taught some very interesting plays with long sword to keep both classes engaged.
A total of roughly 45 potential fencers ran the course and it's now a matter of seeing if they caught the bug.
Always a fun group to handle and similarly to previous editions we'll always be looking forward to the next.
