Helen Reef Team joined forces with the Hatohobei State to celebrate Earth Day by cleaning up the coastline at Echang area yesterday, April 22, 2026. Together, we removed debris and marine litter to protect our precious reef, wildlife, and community. Small actions add up to big change. Thank you everyone who lend a hand. Let’s keep pushing for a cleaner and healthier ocean.

From March 17-20, 2026, Conservation Officer Petra Tkel represented Helen Reef Program during the Palau PAN Ranger Coastal Fisheries MCS and Enforcement Training at Palau Community CE Training Room and Long Island Park. This training was coordinated by PAN Office. The rangers from their respective state participated at this training. They learned biosecurity protocols to advanced monitoring and also focused on essential topics such as state and national rules and regulations on protected area, fish species identification and its regulations, and evidence gathering. At Long Island Park, rangers practiced their physical endurance and survival and rescue skills. This training enhanced our rangers on their capacity to manage and protect their conservation area and also equipped them with new skills and renewed dedication. Huge thank you to partners and trainers who made this training a big success as well as supporting the frontline heroes of conservation. Congratulation to all conservation officers especially our very own officer, Petra Tkel.
