🛑 Zhonglian F-27 in Changzhou, China 🇨🇳
📌 During a low-altitude test flight in Changzhou, China, the F-27 helicopter did a dramatic crash landing. Video shows the tail section snapping off mid-flight. Without the tail rotor for anti-torque control, the helicopter started shaking + spinning violently before hitting the ground and injuring 2 occupants.
📌 Aircraft: Changzhou Zhonglian Aviation Technology Co., Ltd. built the F-27. It’s one of China’s newer light utility helicopters, often used for training/test flights.
📌 From the footage + reports, the tail boom/rotor failed. In helicopters the tail rotor counters the main rotor’s torque. Lose that = instant uncontrolled yaw/spin. At low altitude there’s basically no time to recover or autorotate.
Test flights are exactly for finding these failures before they reach customers, but they’re still risky. CAAC + the manufacturer would be investigating whether it was structural fatigue, material defect, or design issue.
A Bombardier Challenger 601 business jet landed on a road still under construction in Asaba, Nigeria, after a failed approach to Asaba International Airport on Wednesday. According to the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority, the aircraft conducted a missed approach at about 7:43 a.m. local time before reportedly landing on a roadway in the Ogwashi-Uku area near Asaba.
The regulator said preliminary findings showed that the aircraft later departed the location and flew back to Lagos without obtaining the required regulatory clearance.
Upon arrival in Lagos, the aircraft was immediately grounded pending the outcome of the investigation, while the flight crew were placed under regulatory review.
The NCAA also announced the suspension of the operator's Permit for Non-Commercial Flight pending further inquiries.

🛑 The story broke June 9, 2026. It’s wild.
🛑 What happened with the Air Canada pilot:
📌 Geoffrey “Geoff” Wall, 59, from Barrie, Ontario. 27-year Air Canada veteran, retired in 2025.
📌 He allegedly flew as captain for *17 years without the required Airline Transport Pilot Licence ATPL*. Police say he captained *900+ domestic + international flights* between 2009 and 2025.
📌 Wall did have a valid Commercial Pilot Licence, but to fly as captain on large aircraft like Boeing 777s in Canada you need an ATPL — which requires passing written exams. Police say he used “materially altered and counterfeit” documents and “fraudulent licensing documents” dating back to 2009.
📌 March 2025, during a routine certification check at Toronto Pearson YYZ, an inspector spotted “anomalies” in his licence. That kicked off “Project Icarus” — a 4-month fraud investigation by Peel Regional Police.
📌 Charges: 7 criminal counts including fraud over $5,000, uttering forged documents, possession of counterfeit mark, and public mischief. Plus a $67,500 administrative fine from Transport Canada.
📌 Air Canada Says he was “immediately removed from active duty” when discovered and they reported it to Transport Canada. They insist “safety was not compromised” because all pilots do recurrent training every 6 months + check rides with Transport Canada every 12 months.
📌 Police compared it to “a doctor licensed for family medicine doing brain surgery”.
📌 Wall retired in 2025 before the investigation went public. First court date was set for June 29, 2026.

Tragic development: A private jet has crashed during an emergency landing attempt at La Romana International Airport in the Dominican Republic.
The accident involved a 2004-model Gulfstream G200 (N318JF) private business jet.
Authorities are investigating the incident, and emergency crews responded quickly to the scene.

Huge milestone for Saudi aviation 🔴✈️
Riyadh Air’s first 2 brand-new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners landed in Riyadh today, June 5, 2026, and they got the full VIP treatment.
📌The arrival:
Saudi Hawks aerobatic team escorted HZ-RXAA + HZ-RXAB as they entered Saudi airspace. Riyadh Air posted video: “Saudi Falcons escorting Riyadh Air’s first aircraft as they enter the nation’s airspace”
📌 Landing: Both jets touched down at King Khalid International Airport RUH just 4 minutes apart in a coordinated arrival from the US
📌 Registrations: HZ-RXAA came from Boeing’s Charleston, SC factory. HZ-RXAB came from Everett Paine Field WA. They “met up” over Europe for the synchronized landing
📌 Riyadh Air has 39 787-9s on firm order + options for 33 more = up to 72 total. This is their all-Boeing widebody fleet plan
