It was a privilege to serve as the Resource Speaker representing Overseas Filipino Investors and Entrepreneurs Movement for the Financial Goal Setting session during the Financial Literacy Program Seminar & Workshop organized by the International Organization for Migration (IOM), the UN Migration Agency.
My key message was simple:
Dreams need goals. Goals need a plan. Plans need action.
We all have dreams for ourselves and our families. But without clear goals, a realistic plan, and consistent action, those dreams often remain just dreams. Financial planning is not just about money. It's about making intentional decisions today that create a better tomorrow.
My sincere thanks to Ms. Malou and the IOM Qatar Office for the invitation and the opportunity to share with and learn alongside our migrant worker community. It was an honor to be part of an initiative that empowers people to build a more secure future.
Congratulations as well to my fellow resource speakers, Jason Quizon, Ed Alcantara, and Ressie Fos, for sharing your knowledge and inspiring our participants. It was a pleasure to be part of this meaningful program with all of you.

Reliability matters, especially when your family needs help the most.
I’ve had my own Zurich policy for 11 years now, and one thing I value is its claims record. Zurich says complete life insurance claims are paid in an average of 72 hours, with some paid as fast as 24 hours, subject to policy terms and complete documents.
Marami na rin akong narinig na weeks or even months ang hinintay bago ma process ang claim. Kaya for me, insurance is not just about having coverage. It is also about choosing a company your family can rely on when the time comes.
Have you ever checked how reliable your insurance company is when it comes to claims?
If global and portable life insurance coverage is something you are currently exploring, you are welcome to reach out for a conversation.

As an expat who has called Qatar home for many years, I am deeply grateful for the opportunities, safety, and progress this country has provided to me and countless others.
Today, I join the people of Qatar in honoring the memory of His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, Father Amir of the State of Qatar.
His vision helped shape the Qatar we know today, a nation that has become a home to people from all over the world.
My heartfelt condolences to His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Al Thani family, and the people of Qatar.
Thank you for your remarkable legacy. May you rest in peace. 🇶🇦🕊️

Why was Alex Eala’s win yesterday such a big thing?
Here’s why:
1. She beat the defending Wimbledon champion.
Hindi ordinary player ang tinalo niya. Iga Swiatek was the defending champion and one of the top players in the world. Beating her on that stage is already a massive statement.
2. She won in Wimbledon.
Wimbledon is one of the biggest and most respected tournaments in tennis. Iba ang pressure kapag Grand Slam stage. The world is watching.
3. She made Philippine tennis history.
Alex became the first Filipino to reach the fourth round of a Grand Slam. That is not just a personal milestone — that is a national milestone.
4. She showed composure under pressure.
The first set was very close. She won it in a tight tiebreak, then carried that confidence into the second set. That shows mental toughness.
5. She proved that preparation speaks when the moment comes.
The win may look sudden to many people, but behind it were years of training, sacrifice, discipline, and quiet work.
And maybe that is the biggest lesson for us.
Big wins rarely happen overnight.
Whether in sports, career, family, or finances — success is usually built long before people see the result.
Sa pera, ganun din.
You do not build financial freedom in one lucky move.
You build it through preparation, consistency, discipline, and patience.
Small savings.
Emergency fund.
Protection for your family.
Avoiding unnecessary debt.
Investing for the future.
Alex Eala reminded us that when the big moment comes, your preparation will speak for you.
So keep showing up.
The win may look sudden to others.
But you will know the truth:
You prepared for it.

Financial literacy is not only for people who already have extra money.
It is also for hardworking workers who simply want to protect what they worked so hard for.
I had the privilege to share about scams and fraud awareness during the Financial Literacy Session for Qatar Foundation Workers, alongside a meaningful session by Sir Ressie S. Fos on the financial journey of migrant workers.
Thank you to Qatar Foundation, WSIF, BWI, BMKQ, Overseas Filipino Investors and Entrepreneurs Movement OFIE-M, and PinoyWISE for making this initiative possible.
If your company, organization, or community would like to conduct a practical financial literacy session as part of your community/corporate welness program, we’d be happy to support.
Because when workers become financially aware, families become more protected.
