We’re so excited to launch The Deans’ Choice with Bonhams, a pioneering elective sale royalty award program in the United States, launching a platform that facilitates economic participation for living artists when their work is sold at public auction through Bonhams. This has been in the works for many, many years, and long overdue!!

Please welcome Georgia Semple () into The Dean Collection.
Based in London, Georgia draws deeply from her Guyanese heritage, faith, and the layered narratives of Black community and identity. Working across painting and ceramics, she blends collage, embroidery, acrylic, and oil to construct imagined scenes where figures shift between clarity and obscurity, mirroring the tension between perception and reality.
Her practice is anchored in faith, with scripture shaping the way she sees the world, wrestling with sin and the challenge of living by spiritual values in a world often at odds with them. Earthy palettes meet vivid highlights, while embroidered motifs reference ancient petroglyphs and traditional Guyanese garments, weaving together the ancestral, the spiritual, and the personal.

More than 96 massive LED screens stretch from 41st to 49th Streets, lighting up simultaneously as part of the Midnight Moment program, New York City’s largest and longest-running digital art series. Each night, for three minutes beginning at 11:57 p.m., the displays sync in unison before the clock strikes twelve.
“Morning Again” emphasizes four key elements, hope, rhythm, self-expression and transformation, rather than depicting specific figures. These abstract motifs unfold as shifting shapes, glowing light and vibrant hues that mirror the city’s pulse. The work highlights how diverse cultural energies intersect and overlap, creating a shared urban identity. In a time marked by uncertainty and division, the installation quietly affirms diversity and individuality while suggesting the possibility of moving forward together.
