🌸 Meet beautiful Poppy 🌸

Our beautiful caramel girl Poppy had been living on the streets for a number of weeks before we were alerted to her by a kind-hearted lady.

Unfortunately, the lovely lady was unable to take her home & keep her safe, so we went to meet Poppy as soon as we could. 🙏

In the meantime, Poppy somehow managed to navigate street life all by herself.

And despite everything she had been through, she never lost hope or faith in people. 🥹💕

Poppy just wanted to belong. 💔

She greeted everyone she met with a wagging tail & an open heart. 🥹 Jumping up for cuddles at every opportunity, snuggling in close & hoping that this person might finally be the one to take her home. She was especially fond of the local children.

This sweet, friendly girl was so vulnerable out there on her own. We'd like to think that other kind-hearted souls had been looking out for her along the way. 🙏

Poppy spent weeks trying so hard to find her way into somebody's heart. And now, we hope to make all her dreams come true. 🙏🥰✨️

Poppy is approximately 1 & ½ years old & weighs just 5kg.

She has so lovingly been named & sponsored by the fabulous Karen Dinan. 🌸🥰✨️

Thank you for helping her take the very first step on her rescue journey. 🌹💕

And a huge thank you also goes to the wonderful Kevin Larcombe who so kindly stepped forward to support Poppy on her journey by gifting her spay. ✨️🥰

Thank you for helping to set her on a safer, healthier path for the future.

It's the gift that will keep on giving for a lifetime. ✨️

Thank you both for helping Poppy & seeing her, it was all she ever wanted. ✨🥰️ And thank you for always being by our side. 🐾💕

These two little Bichon mix beauties had only ever known life at the end of a chain.
Dogs like these are often bought because of their looks. They're considered fashionable, desirable, cute little companions. Yet somehow, these two ended up hidden away in a village, neglected and forgotten.

For what?

To spend their days barking from the end of a chain.

Through scorching summers and freezing winters, their coats became matted and overgrown, pulling painfully on their skin with every movement. They had no freedom, no comfort, and very little kindness.

Thankfully, that chapter of their lives is over.
One of the first things we did was arrange much-needed pamper sessions to remove the heavy, neglected coats they had been carrying around for so long. The transformation was incredible, and we could almost see the relief on their faces.
They have now been with us for a few weeks and are slowly discovering what it means to be dogs.

They have space to run, room to play, and no longer carry the weight of a chain around their necks. Watching them enjoy their freedom is something truly special.

These two sweet souls have been very kindly sponsored by Andy Devere who named them Butch, after one of his own beloved little dogs, and Beanie.

We would also like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Paul Steel whose generous donation covered their grooming sessions as well as their spay and neutering costs.
Because of your kindness, these two have been given identities and the fresh start they deserved.

Their past may have been sad, but their future is bright.

Welcome to the next and best chapter in your lives, Butch and Beanie ❤️

Last week we visited the public shelter.
It’s impossible to describe the feeling that hits you when you walk through those gates. Everywhere you look there is sadness, fear, panic, hopelessness.

So many dogs.

Dogs who are there because humans failed them. Dogs who have known nothing but abandonment, neglect, and loneliness.
Dogs so traumatised that all they know how to do is hide from the world.
Dogs who shrink into corners, praying not to be seen.
And then there are the others, the ones who still dare to hope. The ones who push their noses through the bars, wag their tails, and silently beg, “Please notice me. Please choose me.”

Among them was this girl.
Unbelievably, she has spent the last FOUR YEARS in that shelter.

Four years.

She is around six years old, which means she has spent more of her life behind kennel bars than she has ever spent living freely.
More birthdays passed in a kennel than in a home. More cold winters and lonely nights than any dog should ever have to endure.

Today, everything changed.
Today, her world changed.
Today, we got her out.

As we opened her kennel, she looked at us with hopeful but uncertain eyes. Friendly, gentle, but confused. Why were these strangers reaching for her? Why were these hands trying to take her away from the only life she had known for four long years?
Yet she didn't fight.
She simply trusted.
And with that trust, she stepped into a brand-new chapter.

Now her journey begins, but we need your help.
We need a kind person to sponsor her initial vet costs for her test with a one-off donation of £30.
**Update** Kindly sponsored by Catherine Squirrely and named Elodie 💗

We are also looking for someone to gift her a much-needed pamper session with a one-off donation of £20.
**Update** Also kindly covered by Catherine Squirrely 🛁

Four years of shelter life have left their mark.
We want to wash away the dirt, the smell, and the reminders of her past, and let her feel what it is like to be cared for.

After four years of waiting, she finally got her chance.
Please help us show her that the world can still be kind ❤️

**✨ Update 13/06 ✨** https://www.facebook.com/share/v/1D6bidTSiV/?mibextid=wwXIfr

Abandoned in a forest, hidden beneath a coat so matted and overgrown that it told a story of neglect all by itself.
When we found him alongside Danny, Anna and Theresa, he wasn't ready to trust us straight away. And honestly, who could blame him?

At around 2.5 years old, he has already experienced more disappointment than any dog ever should.
But the beautiful thing was that he wasn't trying to run away. He wasn't going anywhere.
He simply needed time. Time to watch us. Time to breathe. Time to decide whether we were safe.

And when that moment came, when I finally held him in my arms, I felt him relax. As though he had made his decision.
"It's okay now. They've got me."

It's a feeling that's impossible to describe unless you've experienced it. The moment a dog who has been let down by humans decides to trust again.

Even in the state he is in, he is absolutely breathtaking. Beneath the knots, dirt and neglect is the most beautiful boy, and we cannot wait to show you his transformation.

Right now, we're looking for three kind-hearted people to help him start his new chapter:
❤️ £30 to sponsor his name and give him an identity.
**Update** Kindly sponsored by Joanne Skelding and named Arthur 🫶
✂️ £20 to cover his pamper session.
**Update** Also kindly covered by Joanne Skelding 🫶
🐾 £30 to cover his neutering.
**Update** Kindly funded by Sarah Canavan 💙

If you would like to help us with any of these, please comment below and we will gratefully accept “first come first served” 😇

A few days ago, he was alone in a forest with nobody looking for him.

He is safe.

Today we hope he'll have a name.
And one day, a family who will never let him wonder if he belongs again ❤️

Ways you can make your donation to us 🫶 Thank you!!

🌹🐦🧡 Meet Rosie, Birdie & Buddy 🧡🐦🌹

Our three little musketeers were rescued back in May & we'd now like to introduce them to you properly, after a little time to settle in at our shelter. 🥰

Last month, Laura came across a post about them & a worrying update. They had been spotted running, terrified & confused, on a busy road. 🥺 They were in real danger of being seriously injured, or worse. They seemed to have no awareness of the danger around them.

These newly abandoned dogs had been left to fend for themselves in the middle of nowhere, & they were over an hour away.

Thankfully, we know a wonderful lady in the area, Helen DuBălan, who was able to reach them quickly. 🌹

Honestly, we cannot thank this kind-hearted lady enough. She played a huge part in saving their lives that day. 🥰✨️🫶

You can revisit their earlier rescue post here:

https://www.facebook.com/share/v/193BvuUaH4/

We’d like to thank four incredible members of the Sadies family - Mandy Dale, Ina Froberg, Michele Lawrence, & Karen Dinan - for being absolute stars 🌟 & stepping up to help these three with spays, a neuter, & glow-up pampers for the girls. We’re beyond grateful for your very special gifts. ✨️🥰🫶

Beautiful Rosie & Birdie were rescued with dreadfully dirty, neglected coats. And, as you can see from the video, poor Birdie was suffering with particularly matted & tightly knotted fur. It must have felt so painful & uncomfortable. 💔

But just look at them now. 🥹✨️

You can see it in their eyes & smiles, a pamper can bring so much joy, comfort & transformation to a neglected soul… lifting minds, spirits, & little hearts in the most beautiful way. 🥰

And they both look much cooler too, all ready to tackle the summer ahead. ☀️😍

Their spays & neuter were also essential, setting Rosie, Birdie & Buddy on a safer, healthier path for the future. 🧡🐦🌹

And to their wonderful sponsors who chose the most gorgeous names - Elizabeth Mary Clement Boyall, Wybrich Warns & Keith Newton - thank you again for loving them from afar. 🥰✨️🫶

We are so thrilled to present three very happy, beautiful dogs, now truly ready to embark on their brand-new adventure…

Home. 🏡

It will surely come soon enough. 🙏🌹🐦🧡
