An exceptional evening dedicated to academic cooperation and intercultural dialogue at the Romanian-American University!

We had the distinct honor of hosting H.E. Hur Seung-chul, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea to Romania, during the anniversary gala event: "A Wave of K-Pop," organized by the Centrul de Studii Româno-Coreene (Romanian - Korean Studies Center) to celebrate its 15th anniversary.

During the event, the Ambassador held an official meeting with Prof. Costel Negricea, Ph.D. Habil., Rector of the Romanian-American University. Discussions focused on strengthening the Romanian-Korean educational partnership, developing new joint academic initiatives, and continuously supporting students passionate about Korean language, business, and culture.

The Gala brought together high-level diplomacy and the vibrant energy of the K-Pop phenomenon, reaffirming the role of the Romanian-Korean Studies Center and the Korea Corner within RAU as genuine cultural and educational bridges between the two countries.

Andrei Luchici, Lecturer, PhD, from the School of Computer Science for Business Management at the Romanian-American University, took part in the FACTORY 4.0 2026 conference within the panel dedicated to robotics and intelligent automation, contributing to the dialogue on the role of these technologies in transforming the industry.

The event gathered opinion leaders and specialists to analyze how emerging technologies are fundamentally reshaping industrial operations and modern manufacturing. The debates deeply explored the practical integration of advanced solutions into operational ecosystems.

Alongside industry experts such as Mariona Sanz, Prof. Stelian Brad, Alexandru Niță, Victor Adrian Vevera, Mihaela Cuțui, and Andra Tănase, the discussions focused on adaptive cobots, predictive capabilities, and the smart connection of new AI solutions to existing infrastructures.

Artificial Intelligence is no longer just a code-writing assistant, but a massive speed and autonomy multiplier in the digital space.

At Bucharest Science Festival 2026, Lecturer Professor Dr. Andrei Luchici, from the Faculty of Managerial Informatics at the Romanian-American University, took the stage at Humanitas Bookshop on Lipscani Street to debate the new threats brought by the accelerated evolution of AI.

Together with experts Rufin Zamfir and Mircea Șerdin, the discussion moderated by Corina Negrea started from the latest reports regarding the misuse of advanced models in complex cyber operations, surveillance actions, and manipulation campaigns.

In a technological landscape that transforms from one day to the next, building defense systems capable of keeping pace becomes critical. The academic environment has the responsibility to prepare specialists capable not only of adopting new tools, but also of protecting digital infrastructures against new vulnerabilities.

The Romanian-American University pays tribute to Prof. Ion Smedescu, who served as its Founding President and Rector from 1991 to 2008.

A prominent figure in Romanian higher education and a pioneer of private higher education, Prof. Smedescu laid the foundations of an institution and an academic community built around values that continue to guide us today: excellence, education, continuity, and vision.

His words have become part of the spirit of the Romanian-American University, while the journeys of the generations of students, alumni, and faculty who followed reflect, over time, the lasting impact of the academic vision he set in motion.

At this solemn moment of remembrance, the Romanian-American University community expresses its deepest gratitude and appreciation for Prof. Ion Smedescu – the educator, mentor, and visionary – and for the legacy he left behind.

Because a truly powerful vision does not fade with time. It lives on through the people it inspires and the generations whose path it helps shape.

A new international academic partnership for the RAU community 🌎🎓

The Romanian-American University in Bucharest and Logan University (Chesterfield, Missouri, USA) have signed a partnership agreement that creates new collaboration opportunities for students and faculty members.

The agreement was signed by Prof. Costel Negricea, Ph.D. Habil., Rector of the Romanian-American University, and Dr. H. Garrett Thompson, President of Logan University.

Going forward, the collaboration may include student mobility, exchange programs and summer schools, academic fellowships for faculty, curriculum development, and participation in international conferences.

The partnership also opens doors for joint research projects, the sharing of expertise, and the development of case studies with an international perspective, as well as the exploration of joint degree programs at both the undergraduate and master's levels.

Another step toward connecting the RAU community to international academic opportunities and experiences. 🌎

We had the pleasure of honoring the Romanian-American University students who achieved a perfect 10 GPA in the previous academic year, along with professors recognized for outstanding achievements, during the Excellence Gala organized on the occasion of Education Day.

A grade point average of 10 is not merely a number in a gradebook. It is the culmination of hundreds of hours of study, discipline, curiosity, and a genuine passion for their chosen field. It represents an accomplishment built day by day through consistency and a drive to grow.

We are proud to stand by them at this stage in their development and to see them carry forward the values of the RAU community.

We extend our warmest congratulations to these high-achieving students and wish them great success in all their upcoming projects and challenges! 👏

Erasmus Orientation Day 2026 – A Warm Welcome to Our New International Students!

We were delighted to welcome 90 Erasmus+ students to the Romanian-American University for our 2026 Orientation Day, bringing together students from partner universities across 20 countries: Azerbaijan, France, Georgia, Germany, Italy, Japan, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kosovo, Mexico, Morocco, the Netherlands, Portugal, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Tunisia, Türkiye, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan.

The event was a great opportunity for our new international students to discover more about academic life at RAU, university expectations, practical aspects of living in Bucharest, and what to expect during their Erasmus+ journey.
