UNFINISHED surpasses the thresholds of classic event structures and bridges the gaps – both geographical and cognitive – between people, between generations and between practices. And beyond these bridges, we delve into what sprouts in between disciplines and anticipate what is not yet defined as one. We thus celebrate curiosity as the single most important shared value in the quest for change across fields and borders.

If you've watched Couples Therapy, you know the strange feeling of recognising your own arguments in someone else's living room. What happens there isn't advice. It's something slower: staying in the room while two people finally say the thing they've been circling for years.
And the insistence that runs through her practice and her writing: no couple sits outside history. Race, class, migration, inherited politics. They're all on the sofa, whether or not anyone names them.
This September we're opening a call for couples to do a live session on stage. Bring the disagreement you've been avoiding.

It started with a question: how do we understand what we truly mean to each other?
From the very beginning, UNFINISHED has been a place for community to grow, not through sameness, but through difference. We've always wanted to see what happens when people who'd never otherwise meet sit at the same table and take the time to really listen.
A therapist across from a CEO. An entrepreneur beside an artist. A scientist in conversation with a violinist. A tech geek and a monk.
Out of those encounters came more than ideas, connection, trust, a sense of shared time. A deeper kind of learning. A feeling that still lingers.
This is how it feels.

UNFINISHED was never a conference about something. It was a festival of each other – of the invisible threads that appear when you sit beside someone you’d never otherwise meet. This is LEAP, our 2025 edition, carried by the voice of the most politically engaged yet poetic artists of our time, Alfredo Jaar, whose talk held a full Auditorium for nearly ninety minutes without letting go.
We hope it makes you want to leap, too.
