PHILIPPINE FLAG FLIES AGAIN IN ROMANIA

Bucharest, 04 June 2025 – The Philippine flag once again flies over Romania, a few days after the Flag Day commemoration of the national emblem on 28 May 2025, and two weeks before the celebration of the anniversary of the declaration of Philippine Independence on 12 June.

The Philippine flag was hoisted at the SKY Tower Building grounds on 03 June 2025, after the Embassy transferred to its new permanent chancery located in Bucharest’s tallest building.

The Embassy was closed in 2012, after 35 years of continued operations. The Philippine Embassy was reopened on 23 August 2024.

Prior to the reopening of the Philippine Embassy in Buchaerst, Philippines-Romania bilateral relations were covered by the Philippine Embassy in Budapest, Hungary.

Aside from the having jurisdiction over Romania, the Philippine Embassy in Bucharest also covers the Philippines’ bilateral relations with the Republic of Hungary and the Republic of Moldova.
