Throughout the month, weâll be preparing a series of exciting changes and working behind the scenes on new projects that youâll discover when we reopen in September. We have plenty of surprises waiting for you.

Layers of colour, the rhythm of gestures, and subtle shifts of light preserve traces of time spent in front of a landscape, an object, or a particular situation. Rather than seeking a faithful representation of reality, the image condenses an experience that continues to exist through memory and the materiality of paint.

đđđđđ is an artist collective founded in TimiČoara in 2003, currently comprising đđ˘đŠđŤđ˘đđ§ đđ¨đđđ, đđđ§ đđĄđđŤđŚđđ§, đđ¨đŹđŚđ˘đ§ đ

Over more than two decades of activity, the group has developed an artistic practice grounded in dialogue, observation, and collective inquiry, exploring the relationship between painting, nature, memory, and the direct experience of place. Working in close proximity to painter Constantin Flondor and shaped by the experimental legacy of the Sigma Group, the artists of NOIMA investigate the possibilities of painting beyond representation, integrating drawing, photography, installation, performance, and site-specific interventions into their practice.

Curating Index of Absence meant bringing together five artists whose practices remain deeply individual while sharing a common way of engaging with the world through observation. In this conversation, curator Mirela Stoeac-VlÄduČi reflects on NOIMAâs more than twenty-year history, the dialogue between individual and collective practice, and the exhibitionâs central premise: understanding absence not as emptiness, but as a dense field of memory, traces, and relationships that continue to shape what we see.

In đđ˘đŠđŤđ˘đđ§ đđ¨đđđâs practice, structure and organicity coexist in a productive tension. The artist establishes the framework and initiates the process while accepting that the material will follow its own logic of development. Seeds, matter, and gesture become agents of transformation, as control gradually gives way to observation. The absence of figurative representation is not the result of formal reduction, but a methodological decision that allows structure to speak for itself, making processes of growth and transformation the central subject of the work.

Careful observation of the natural world lies at the core of đđ˘đŠđŤđ˘đđ§ đđ¨đđđâs (b. 1979, Cugir, Romania) artistic practice. Approaching painting as a process of exploration and discovery, he investigates the hidden structures that emerge through prolonged engagement with natural forms. Rather than documenting nature as it appears, his works reflect an ongoing search for the relationships that connect organic growth, perception, and geometry.
This approach is exemplified in his recent works inspired by apple blossoms. Observing recurring floral arrangements in the landscape, Bodea became interested in the possibility that these organic formations could suggest underlying geometric configurations. Beginning with the shape of a single petal, he digitally reconstructed a structure resembling half of a dodecahedron, proposing a visual dialogue between direct observation, natural growth, and geometric order.
