TV Towers of Soviet Union / Eastern Bloc

While TV towers are commonly simple utilitarian structures, many towers were constructed by the Soviets to not only project radio waves, but beauty and state power
Many of these towers were built with public observation decks and rotating restaurants
One of the more conspicuous example might be the Berlin Fernsehturm (TV Tower). The Fernsehturm was a direct response to the Stuttgart TV Tower built in West Germany a few years prior
When the Berlin Fernsehturm was completed in 1969, it instantly became the tallest building in Germany. The giant towered over a divided Berlin, not so subtly projecting a message of socialist strength
