Vampire

Throughout the years, plenty of people have asked us where the closing minute of ”With Primeval Force” was taken from. It’s from this one: a brilliant recording made in the Soviet Union in 1968, that is a reasonably common flee market find in Sweden. To parts of the Vampire clan, it remains the definitive Christmas record, which is why it was top of mind upon mixing ”With Primeval Force” this time of year in 2016. Time flies; however once in a peculiar while, it stands perfectly still, and freezes.

Black String compiled these photos from our gig at and sent to band members and other associates for X-mas 2022. Top center is the formidable Adam Schmidt who once started attending our shows as, literally, a small kid. These are the days and nights of the year when time merges with time and the past is pressing down on the present with even greater weight from the sky. To the subterranean sea! Hail Hiisi!!
